Ahmed Tantawi or Ahmed Mohamed Ramadan Tantawi ( ar, أحمد محمد رمضان الطنطاوي; also: ''Tantawy'') is an Egyptian journalist and politician. , he is a member of the 25-30 Alliance and a member of the Egyptian House of Representatives. 2015–2020 Parliament Tantawi is a member of the 25-30 Alliance created for the 2015 Egyptian parliamentary election, whose name refers to the 2011 Egyptian revolution that started on 25 January 2011 and the 30 June 2013 protests that led to the overthrow of President Mohamed Morsi. He was elected to the Egyptian House of Representatives in the 2015 election in the individual component of the second phase of the election, along with 13 others in the alliance. The 25-30 Alliance is an alliance of independents created to run in the Egyptian parliamentary election, 2015, 2015 Egyptian parliamentary election of 17 October to 2 December 2015. Creation The name of the alliance refers to the revolution that overthrew Hosni Mubarak on 25 January 2011 and the overthrow of Mohamed Morsi on 30 June 2013. In July 2014, members of the April 6 Youth Movement and Tamarod stated that they would join the alliance. The Free Egyptians Party stated that it might join the alliance. Ali Abdel Aal Sayyed Ahmed ( ar, علي عبد العال; born 29 November 1948) is an Egyptian law professor and politician. He was Speaker of the House of Representatives between 10 January 2016 and 12 January 2021. As law professor he worked at Ain Shams University and specialized in constitutional law. Career Abdel Aal was born on 29 November 1948, in Nagaa El-Shaikh Ibrahim, Daraw, Aswan Governorate. He studied law and obtained a degree from Ain Shams University in 1972. The next year he started working as a deputy to a prosecutor. In 1974 he became a university lecturer. Ten years later he obtained his PhD in State at the University of Paris.
