Ahmed Sylla
Ahmed Sylla (born 10 March 1990) is a French comedian and actor. In 2017, he received acclaim for his role in the film '' The Climb''. Background Sylla's family originates from Senegal. He grew up on the Dervallières housing estate in Nantes and started to like theatre and comedy, motivated by his family who got him started. Career Sylla draws inspiration from leading French figures Louis de Funès, Raymond Devos and Coluche, as well as Canadian artists such as Michel Courtemanche and Jim Carrey, whose humour is based on their body language. In 2010, he joined the Samba Show and performed in prestigious concert halls such as the Casino de Paris and the Bobino theatre. ''On n'demande qu'à en rire'' (literally "We ask only to laugh at it"; often abbreviated as ''ONDAR'' ) is a French comedy television programme. First broadcast on France 2 in 2010, it was created by Laurent Ruquier and involved aspiring comedians performing sketches they had written. The jury then scored the sketches; comedians receiving a high enough score could return for future episodes. The programme was filmed at the Moulin Rouge and broadcast from Monday to Friday at around 6 p.m. on France 2 from 6 September 2010. During the second season, it was also broadcast on Saturdays. Special programmes were also broadcast during prime time (three in the second season and three in the third season). During the first two seasons, daily shows, prime-time specials and the gala at the Casino de Paris featuring the show's best comedians were all presented by Laurent Ruquier.
