Ahmed Sefrioui
Ahmed Sefrioui ( ar, أحمد صفروي) (January 1, 1915 - February 25, 2004) was a Moroccan novelist and pioneer of Moroccan literature in the French language. Biography He was born in Fes in 1915 of Berber parents. Sefrioui was founder of the Dar Batḥa Museum in Fes, a town that is present in almost all of his writings. After the Qur'an school and the schools of Fes Sefrioui has made French his own. As a young journalist for " ''Action du Peuple''" and as writer of historical articles as a curator for the "Addoha" museum he mastered the language. After 1938 he worked at the government departments of culture, education and tourism in Rabat. He died in 2004.Simon Gikandi, ''Encyclopedia of African Literature'', ed. Fez or Fes (; ar, فاس, fās; zgh, ⴼⵉⵣⴰⵣ, fizaz; french: Fès) is a city in northern inland Morocco and the capital of the Fès-Meknès administrative region. It is the second largest city in Morocco, with a population of 1.11 million according to the 2014 census. Located to the north west of the Atlas Mountains, Fez is linked to several important cities of different regions; it is from Tangier to the northwest, from Casablanca, from Rabat to the west, and from Marrakesh to the southwest. L'Action Du Peuple
(, ''The Work of the People'') was the first francophone newspaper published by the Moroccan Nationalist Movement in the area under the control of the French Protectorate in Morocco. As the French authorities would not allow a nationalist publication in Arabic, it was published in French. Its founder and editor was Muhammad Ibn al-Hassan al-Wazzaani. Its first issue was published in Fes on August 4, 1933, four months before the first Throne Day, which the newspaper promoted. It was edited by Khadija Diouri, wife of the nationalist leader . Rabat
Rabat (, also , ; ar, الرِّبَاط, er-Ribât; ber, ⵕⵕⴱⴰⵟ, ṛṛbaṭ) is the capital city of Morocco and the country's seventh largest city with an urban population of approximately 580,000 (2014) and a metropolitan population of over 1.2 million. It is also the capital city of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra administrative region. Rabat is located on the Atlantic Ocean at the mouth of the river Bou Regreg, opposite Salé, the city's main commuter town. Dar Batḥa ( ar, دار البطحاء, pronounced ''Bat-ḥaa''), or Qasr al-Batḥa ( ar, قصر البطحاء), is a former royal palace in the city of Fez, Morocco. The palace was commissioned by the Alaouite Sultan Hassan I in the late 19th century and finished under his successor Abdelaziz. It was converted into a museum of historical arts and crafts in 1915 with a collection that now comprises over 6,500 objects.
