Ahmed Bening Wiisichong is a Ghanaian youth leader, Pan Africanist and a Social Entrepreneur.He was elected as the Secretary General of the Pan African Youth Union in November 2021 at the 4th Ordinary Congress of the Pan African Youth Union in Niamey, Niger. He is also the Africa Head Commonwealth Youth Innovation Hub. Education He attended Nandom Senior High School and University for Development Studies, Tamale. Career Ahmed has served as the Chairman of Operations of Africa Youth Connekt. He was elected the deputy secretary-general of the Pan African Youth Union in 2018 at the 5th Ordianry Congress on the Pan African Youth Union in Khartoum, Sudan. Panafrican Youth Union
The Panafrican Youth Union (PYU) is the apex body for National Youth Coordinating Bodies and Mechanism in Africa. Known formerly as the Panafrican Youth Movement (PYM), it was transformed into the PYU at the organisation's 2003 congress in Windhoek, Namibia. About Based in Khartoum, Sudan, the organisation was formed in Conakry, the capital of the Republic of Guinea, on 26 April 1962, at the urging of African Heads of State and Government at the time, who wanted to create a platform to rally African youth behind the cause of the African liberation. The organisation's structure consist of a Congress, Executive Committee, Secretariat, Regional Bodies and Specialised Committees, which are elected (once every three years), out of the 53 African member countries on the continent. The Nandom Senior High is a Catholic secondary school for boys, located in Nandom, in the Nandom district of the Upper West Region in Ghana. The University for Development Studies, Tamale, Ghana, Tamale was established in 1992 by the government of Ghana with a view to accelerating the development of the then 3 Northern Regions of Ghana (the Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions). The World Festival of Youth and Students is an international event organized by the World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY) and the International Union of Students after 1947. History The festival has been held regularly since 1947 as an event of global youth solidarity for democracy and against war and imperialism. National Union Of Ghana Students
NUGS, officially The National Union of Ghana Students is the largest student organization in Ghana. However the date of it foundation has been the subject of controversy. The official Facebook page suggests 1964. However Professor Anselmus Kludze, father of Ave Kludze, claimed that he was the National President of NUGS for the period 1962–1963. He stated he was preceded by P.D. Vanderpuije of the University of Science and Technology (UST) and followed by Mr. F.Y.I. Fiagbe, also of the UST. He further claims that both he and Fiagbe, along with Antwi (the General Secretary at the time), Mr. Easmon and Mr. Kodwo Carr were all arrested and imprisoned without trial under the Preventive Detention Act. The organisation can trace its origins to the Union of Gold Coast Students in West Africa which was founded in the 1930s.
