Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaah (organisation)
Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaah ( ar, أهل السنة والجماعة; ''Adherents to the Sunnah and the community''; ASWJ) was an Islamist group in London. History Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jammah was founded on 18 November 2005, in north London by Sulayman Keeler. He called Queen Elizabeth II an enemy of Islam and Muslims. In February 2006, ASWJ helped organize the Islamist demonstration outside Danish Embassy in London in 2006. In December 2006, ASWJ issued a call on one of its websites for Muslims to fight the Ethiopian attack against the Islamic Courts Union in Somalia "financially, physically and verbally". Sulayman Keeler
Sulayman Keeler (born Simon Keeler) is a Muslim convert and leader of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah, a British Islamist organisation. He is a former member of Al-Muhajiroun, a banned organisation designated as a terrorist organisation, and led the Society of Converts to Islam. HSToday report that this is the "first time a white convert has been incarcerated for Islamist terror charges in the UK."' The 2006 Islamist demonstration outside the Embassy of Denmark in London took place on 3 February 2006, in response to controversy surrounding the publication of editorial cartoons depicting the Islamic prophet Muhammad in the Danish newspaper ''Jyllands-Posten'' on 30 September 2005. The extremist UK-based Islamist groups al Ghurabaa and The Saviour Sect staged a controversial protest march from London Central Mosque near Marylebone Station to the Danish Embassy near Knightsbridge Underground station. Al Ghurabaa call Muslims to protest Al Ghurabaa published an article on their website entitled, "Kill those who insult the Prophet Muhammad". The Islamic Courts Union ( so, Midowga Maxkamadaha Islaamiga) was a legal and political organization formed to address the lawlessness that had been gripping Somalia since the fall of the Siad Barre regime in 1991 during the Somali Civil War. The Islamic Courts Union was embraced by a plurality of Somalis, as Islam was viewed as one of the last credible institutions left in the wake of the collapse of the state. The courts were able to quickly gain the trust of war weary Somalis, as they had emerged at a grassroots level and claimed to rule under the neutrality of Islam, which was viewed as an attractive alternative to the country rife with heightened clan tensions.
