Ahal Region ( tk, Ahal welaýaty; from fa, آخال, Axāl) is one of five provinces of Turkmenistan. It is in the south-center of the country, bordering Iran and Afghanistan along the Kopet Dag Range. Babadaýhan District
Babadaýhan District ( tk, Babadaýhan etraby, Бабадайхан этрабы) is a district of Ahal Province, Turkmenistan. From the Soviet period until 1992, the settlement was named in honor of Sergei Kirov. Ak Bugdaý District
Ak bugdaý District is a district of Ahal Province in Turkmenistan. It was founded in April 1977 as Gäwers District, with its center on the urban-type settlement of Anau. Abolished in August 1988, it was restored in 1992 as part of Ahal, where it was later renamed Ak bugday ("white wheat"). Etymology ''Ak bugday'' in Turkic languages means "white wheat". Local lore holds that white wheat was first cultivated in this area, and the capital of both this district and its province, Anau, features a museum devoted to white wheat as well as local archeology. The People's Council of Turkmenistan ( tk, Halk Maslahaty, ɑlq mɑθlɑxɑt̪ɯ "People's Council") is the upper chamber of Turkmenistan's Parliament, the " National Council" ( tk, Milli Geňeş). Turkmens ( tk, , , , ; historically "the Turkmen"), sometimes referred to as Turkmen Turks ( tk, , ), are a Turkic ethnic group native to Central Asia, living mainly in Turkmenistan, northern and northeastern regions of Iran and north-western Afghanistan. Teke is a major and politically influential Turkmen tribes, tribe of Turkmens in Turkmenistan.
