Ahad Khan
Abdul Ahad Khan (born 25 September 1937) is a former Pakistani cricketer. A leg-spin bowler for the Pakistan Railways team, he achieved some remarkable figures in domestic first-class cricket. 1960s Ahad Khan made his first-class debut in December 1962. In his third match, playing for Railways against Quetta in a quarter-final of the 1962-63 Ayub Trophy, he took 5 for 29 and 4 for 32 in an innings victory. He began the 1964-65 season by taking 5 for 122 and 3 for 35 in a friendly match for Railways against a strong Pakistan XI. In his next match, in the Ayub Trophy against Dera Ismail Khan, after not bowling in the first innings he opened the bowling in the second innings and took 9 for 7 in 6.3 overs; the other batsman was run out. Quaid-i-Azam Trophy
The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy is a domestic first-class cricket competition in Pakistan. With few exceptions, it has been staged annually since it was first played during the 1953–54 season. Domestic cricket in Pakistan has undergone many reorganisations, with the number of teams and matches in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy changing regularly. Since the 2019–20 season it has been contested by six regional teams, having previously been variously contested by associations or departments, or a combination of the two. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) cricket team was a first-class cricket side sponsored by the national flag carrier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), and was based in Karachi before its disestablishment in 2020. Pakistan Universities Cricket Team
Pakistan Universities were a first-class cricket side in Pakistan. They played first-class matches between 1950 and 1989, and took part in Pakistan’s domestic competitions between 1958–59 and 1962–63, and again between 1972–73 and 1978-79. Matches against touring teams Pakistan Universities played their first match against the visiting Ceylon team in 1949-50. Captained by Khan Mohammad, they drew the match, finishing on 214 for 7 in pursuit of 275 for victory. They lost their next match, against the Indians in 1954-55, by an innings, and drew against an MCC team in 1955-56. They lost to a Commonwealth XI in 1967-68 after their captain, Majid Khan declared twice to keep the game alive. Sindh cricket team is a domestic cricket team in Pakistan representing Sindh province. It competes in domestic first-class, List A and T20 cricket competitions, namely the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, Pakistan Cup and National T20 Cup. The team is operated by the Sindh Cricket Association. History Before 2019 Sindh played its first first-class game in December 1932, when they drew with Ceylon at the Gymkhana ground in Karachi. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cricket team is a domestic cricket team in Pakistan representing the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. It competes in domestic first-class, List A and T20 cricket tournaments, namely the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, Pakistan Cup and National T20 Cup. Patron's Trophy
The Patron's Trophy was a cricket competition that was held in Pakistan between 1960–61 and 2018–19 mainly among teams representing the government and semi-government departments, corporations, commercial organisations, business houses, banks, airlines, and educational institutions. Matches in the competition were afforded first-class status in most seasons until 2006–07, when the domestic first-class competition was reorganised and merged into the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). From then on, the Patron's Trophy was a Grade II competition until a major reorganisation of domestic cricket in 2019 brought an end to the competition. Sargodha Cricket Team
Sargodha cricket team was a first-class cricket team that represents Sargodha Division in Punjab Province in Pakistan. They competed in Pakistan's first-class tournaments between 1961–62 and 2002-03. 1960s and 1970s Sargodha played their inaugural first-class match in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy in 1961-62, defeating Peshawar by an innings. Saleem Akhtar, who later captained Sargodha, took 2 for 7 and 5 for 34. They did not win again until their first match in 1969-70, when they beat Lahore A by five wickets, Sherandaz Khan taking 11 for 86. Draws in their next two group matches enabled Sargodha to progress to the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy semi-finals, where they were beaten by Public Works Department. Rowland Bowen
Major Rowland Francis Bowen (27 February 1916 – 4 September 1978) was a British Army officer and a cricket researcher, historian and writer. Educated at Westminster School, Bowen received an emergency commission in April 1942 into the Indian Army. He spent many years in Egypt, Sudan and India before returning to England in 1951 and joining the Royal Engineers as a Captain, working at the War Office and ultimately being promoted to the rank of Major. He later worked for the Joint Intelligence Bureau, part of Britain's military intelligence establishment.
