Agustín Destribats
Agustín Alejandro Destribats (born October 30, 1997) is an Argentinian freestyle wrestler who currently competes at 65 kilograms. A three-time South American champion, Destribats qualified to represent Argentina at the 2020 Summer Olympics when he defeated three–time NCAA Division I National champion Zain Retherford at the 2020 Pan American Olympic Qualification Tournament. Career Destribats started wrestling when he was nine years old in a local club that offered savate, capoeira, and wrestling. In 2013 he won the South American Youth Games in both, freestyle and Greco-Roman and in 2014 he won gold in the Pan American Championships as a cadet in freestyle. In 2015 he won his first major title at the senior level, earning a gold medal at the South American Championships despite being only 18 years old. Yianni Diakomihalis (born John Michael Diakomihalis on April 11, 1999) is an American freestyle and folkstyle wrestler who competes at 65 kilograms and 149 pounds. In freestyle, he is the 2022 world silver medalist, a two-time US World Team member (2021 and 2022), the 2020 Pan American champion, the 2019 US Open national champion, and a two-time age-group world champion. As a collegiate wrestler, Diakomihalis was a four-time NCAA Division I champion and four-time EIWA champion out of Cornell University. Zain Allen Retherford (born May 21, 1995) is an American freestyle wrestler and graduated folkstyle wrestler who competes at 65 kilograms. In freestyle, Retherford is a three-time US World Team Member. He was a silver medalist at the 2022 World Wrestling Championships, earning his first World medal at the highest level of the World Championships. Additionally, he helped Team USA reach third-place at the 2019 World Cup, going undefeated at 4–0, and winning the individual 2019 World Cup title. NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships
The NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships have been held annually since 1928, except for a hiatus in 1943–45 during World War II and in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. In 1928 and from 1931–1933, there was only an unofficial team title. Oklahoma A&M (now Oklahoma State) won the 1928 and 1931 unofficial titles.
