Agogo Eewo
''Agogo Eewo'' (English: Taboo Gong) is a 2002 Yoruba-language film and sequel to the 1999 film, ''Saworoide''. It was written by Akunwunmi Isola And produced and directed by Tunde Kelani. It stars Dejumo Lewis, Deola Faleye, Lere Paimo and Larinde Akinleye. Plot Following the death of Lapite and Lagata, the Jogbo chiefs attempt to put an Onijogbo (king) of their choosing on the throne in order to be able to continue their corrupt practices. They pick a retired police officer named Adebosipo whom they thought will be in their favour. On ascending the throne, Adebosipo turns a new leaf and decides to move on from corrupt ways and advocates for peace and progress in the community. He admonishes his chiefs to depart from their old ways. Balogun, Seriki, Bada and Iyalaje continue their corrupt practices. Tunde Kelani
Tunde Kelani (born 26 February 1948), popularly known as TK, is a Nigerian filmmaker. In a career spanning more than four decades, TK specialises in producing movies that promote Nigeria's rich cultural heritage and have a root in documentation, archiving, education, entertainment and promotion of the culture. Akinwunmi Isola
Akinwunmi Isola (24 December 1939 – 17 February 2018) was a Nigerian playwright, novelist, actor, dramatist, culture activist and scholar. He was known for his writing in, and his work in promoting, the Yoruba language. As an actor, he was known for '' Agogo Eèwò'' (2002), ''Efunsetan Aniwura'' (1981) and ''Efunsetan Aniwura'' (2005). Early life and career Isola was born in Ibadan in 1939, attended Labode Methodist School and Wesley College. He studied at the University of Ibadan, earning a B.A. in French. He was appointed professor at the same University in 1991. Isola wrote his first play, ''Efunsetan Aniwura'', during 1961-62 while still a student at the University of Ibadan. Lere Paimo , (born 19 November 1939) is a Nigerian film actor, film maker, producer and director. Early life Chief Lere Paimo, MFR was born on November 19, 1939 in Ile Ikoyi Odan, Osupa, Ogbomosho, a city in Oyo State southwestern Nigeria. His father was a tobacco and yam farmer, the leader of the local farmers’ organization. His mother was a trader. Chief Lere Paimo was sent to primary school in Ogbomoso, but then left for the Gold Coast where he continued his education in the Gold Coast ( current day Ghana) up to teacher training college where he obtained Teacher’s Grade two certificate. A head tie also known as a headwrap is a women's cloth head scarf that is commonly worn in many parts of West Africa and Southern Africa. The head tie is used as an ornamental head covering or fashion accessory, or for functionality in different settings.
