''Aghori Mhori Mei'' is the thirteenth studio album by American rock band the Smashing Pumpkins. The album was released digitally on August 2, 2024, through Martha's Music and Thirty Tigers. Physical versions of the album are set to be released on November 22, 2024. The album was written and recorded over a two-year period and is billed as a "rock and roll guitar record". Written and produced by Billy Corgan the album is a progressive rock, alternative rock, Heavy metal music, heavy metal and pop music, pop record. The composition is largely driven by a mix of guitar, bass and drums with some mid-tempo tracks utilizing synthesizer and orchestral arrangements. The album had no Single (music), singles prior to release. "Sighommi" was released as the first single from the album on August 2, 2024. The Smashing Pumpkins (also referred to as simply Smashing Pumpkins) are an American alternative rock band from Chicago. Formed in 1988 by frontman and guitarist Billy Corgan, bassist D'arcy Wretzky, guitarist James Iha and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin, the band has undergone several line-up changes since their reunion in 2006, with Corgan being the sole constant member since its inception. The current lineup features Corgan, Chamberlin, Iha and guitarist Jeff Schroeder. Disavowing the punk rock roots of many of their contemporaries, they have a diverse, densely-layered sound, containing elements of gothic rock, heavy metal, dream pop, psychedelic rock, progressive rock, shoegaze, and electronica in later recordings.
