Aggregate Level Simulation Protocol
The Aggregate Level Simulation Protocol (ALSP) is a protocol and supporting software that enables simulations to interoperate with one another. Replaced by the High Level Architecture (simulation) (HLA), it was used by the US military to link analytic and training simulations. ALSP consists of: #ALSP Infrastructure Software (AIS) that provides distributed runtime simulation support and management; #A reusable ALSP Interface consisting of generic data exchange message protocols; and #Participating simulations adapted for use with ALSP. Combinatorial Search

Combinatorial search algorithms achieve this efficiency by reducing the effective size of the search space or employing heuristics. Some algorithms are guaranteed to find the optimal solution, while others may only return the best solution found in the part of the state space that was explored. Hawaii International Conference On System Sciences
The Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS) is an annual conference for Information Systems and Information Technology academics and professionals sponsored by the University of Hawaii at Manoa. The conference provides a platform for panel discussions and the presentation of peer-reviewed information systems research papers. The first HICSS conference took place in 1968 at the University of Hawaii. From 1968 to 1989, HICSS proceedings were published by Western Periodicals Company, California. As the conference grew, HICSS worked with the IEEE Computer Society for its proceedings. LALR
In computer science, an LALR parser or Look-Ahead LR parser is a simplified version of a canonical LR parser, to parse a text according to a set of production rules specified by a formal grammar for a computer language. ("LR" means left-to-right, rightmost derivation.) The LALR parser was invented by Frank DeRemer in his 1969 PhD dissertation, ''Practical Translators for LR(k) languages'', in his treatment of the practical difficulties at that time of implementing LR(1) parsers. He showed that the LALR parser has more language recognition power than the LR(0) parser, while requiring the same number of states as the LR(0) parser for a language that can be recognized by both parsers. High Level Architecture (simulation)
The High Level Architecture (HLA) is a standard for distributed simulation, used when building a simulation for a larger purpose by combining (federating) several simulations. The standard was developed in the 1990s under the leadership of the US Department of Defense and was later transitioned to become an open international IEEE standard. It is a recommended standard within NATO through STANAG 4603. Today the HLA is used in a number of domains including defense and security and civilian applications. The purpose of HLA is to enable interoperability and reuse. Lanchester's Laws
Lanchester's laws are mathematical formulae for calculating the relative strengths of military forces. The Lanchester equations are differential equations describing the time dependence of two armies' strengths A and B as a function of time, with the function depending only on A and B. In 1915 and 1916, during World War I, M. Osipov and Frederick Lanchester independently devised a series of differential equations to demonstrate the power relationships between opposing forces.
