Aggelos (band)
Aggelos (meaning Messenger) are a Colombian Christian metal band that makes unblack metal, doom metal, gothic metal, death metal, symphonic metal, black metal, and neoclassical metal music. They started making music together in 2002 and have released two studio albums, ''Mantos Purpúreos'' (2011) and ''Silentium'' (2016), the latter with Rottweiler Records. Background The band originated in Medellín, Colombia, where they formed in 2002. The current members are vocalist and guitarist, Natalia Soto; vocalist and bassist, Carolina Giraldo Sánchez; vocalist, Juan Esteban Londoño; guitarist and keyboardist, Jonathan Rueda; and drummer, Duvan Lopez Posada. Unblack Metal
Unblack metal (also known as Christian black metal) is a religious philosophy and subgenre within black metal, inheriting several characteristics of it, such as the melody, the lyrics and the aesthetics ( corpse paint), whose artists either directly oppose the Satanism prevalent in most black metal, or promote Christianity in their lyrics and imagery. Unblack metal artists are controversial within the black metal subculture, because black metal's pioneers, especially those of the Second Wave, were anti-Christian. Gothic Metal
Gothic metal (or goth metal) is a fusion genre combining the aggression of heavy metal with the dark atmospheres of gothic rock. The music of gothic metal is diverse with bands known to adopt the gothic approach to different styles of heavy metal music. The genre originated during the early 1990s in the United Kingdom originally as an outgrowth of death-doom, a fusion of death metal and doom metal. Symphonic Metal
Symphonic metal is a cross-generic style designation for the symphonic subsets of heavy metal music subgenres. It is used to denote any metal band that makes use of symphonic or orchestral elements. The style features the heavy drums and guitars of metal with different elements of orchestral classical music, such as symphonic instruments, choirs and sometimes a full orchestra, or just keyboard orchestration. Rottweiler Records is a Christian metal record label based out of Dallas, Texas, United States. The label features bands such as Lust Control, Soul Embraced, The Jericho Harlot, and Pantokrator. The label started early on as a label that served punk rock, but has become a label that serves metal and punk. It is a Christian label, and therefore many of its artists are as well. The label was created by Shawn Browning, also known as Wretched of Grave Robber. Many bands on the label have placed high on CMW's charts and have had many positive reviews.
