Agenor Muniz (Australian Footballer)
Agenor Muniz (born 24 June 1949) is a former footballer. Originally from CR Vasco da Gama in the Brazilian metropolis Rio de Janeiro, in 1971 he joined ''Eastern Suburbs Hakoah'', later well known as Sydney City in Australia, where he won several titles. To date he remains the sole Brazilian to ever play for the Australian national football team in an official match. Career Clubs The winger and midfielder Muniz played for Brazilian team CR Vasco da Gama in Rio de Janeiro from 1966 to 1971. In 1971, he was brought to Australia alongside four more Brazilians, including Hilton Silva and Luis de Melo, by then so-called Eastern Suburbs Hakoah of Sydney. With the club he won the NSW Premiership of 1971, 1973 and 1974 and the Ampol Cup of 1973. John Kosmina
Alexander John Kosmina (born 17 August 1956), known as John Kosmina, is an Australian former football (soccer) player and manager, most recently being the Senior Head Coach of Brisbane Strikers. He is a member of the Football Federation Australia Football Hall of Fame. Club career Kosmina is of Polish Australian ethnicity. He played for Polonia and then West Adelaide, before signing for English side Arsenal in February 1978. However, he only played one first-team league game for the Gunners (as a substitute against Leeds United on 19 August 1978), along with 3 appearances (2 as a substitute) in that season's UEFA cup. He was the first Australian to play for Arsenal. He returned to Australia in May 1979. On his return, he went on to become one of the National Soccer League's most prolific scorers, with stints at Adelaide City, West Adelaide (for a second time), Sydney City, Sydney Olympic and A.P.I.A. Eddie Thomson (25 February 1947 – 21 February 2003) was a Scottish association football player and coach, who played as a defender. He played for Heart of Midlothian and Aberdeen in Scotland, San Antonio Thunder in the United States and Sydney City in Australia. Staying in Australia, he coached Sydney City and Sydney Olympic before working with the Australia national team. Initially assistant coach, he was subsequently head coach from 1990 to 1996. His last coaching position was with Sanfrecce Hiroshima in Japan. Career Born in Rosewell, Scotland, he played 162 games for Heart of Midothian from 1966 to 1973, before moving to Aberdeen and playing a further 91 games with them.
