Agape Foundation
The Agape Foundation Fund for Nonviolent Social Change was a non-profit, public foundation which funded "nonviolent social change organizations committed to peace and justice issues." In 2010, the foundation merged with the Peace Development Fund. History Agape Foundation was established in 1969 in Palo Alto, California to finance the activities of organizations opposed to the Vietnam War. Its name, "Agape," was taken from the Greek word meaning "the unselfish love of one person for another." Witness for Peace (WFP) is a United States-based grassroots organization founded in 1983 that opposed the Reagan administration's support of the Nicaraguan ''Contras'', denouncing widespread atrocities by these counterrevolutionary groups. The War Resisters League (WRL) is the oldest secular pacifist organization in the United States.
