Morshedul Islam (born 1 December 1958) is a Bangladeshi film director. His notable films include ''Agami'' (1984), ''Chaka'' (1993), ''Dipu Number Two'' (1996), ''Dukhai'' (1997), ''Khelaghor'' (2006), ''Durotto'' (2006) and ''Amar Bondhu Rashed'' (2011). Biography Islam was born on 1 December 1958 in Dhaka. He made his film-making debut in 1984 with the short film ''Agami'' while he was a student. Pijush Banerjee
Pijush Bandyopadhyay is a Bangladeshi stage, television and film actor. He is a former managing director of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC). Bandyopadhyay is also the CEO of the privately owned television channel Ekushey Television. Career Bandyopadhyay started his acting career through the theatre troupe "Bahubachan". Later, he worked with "Natyachakra". In 1973, he, along with Nasiruddin Yousuff and Selim Al Deen, founded the troupe "Dhaka Theatre". Bandyopadhyay also directed stage plays including "Meenkanya", "Ekatturer Khudiram" and "Ekatturer Galpo". He acted in films ''Agami'', "Ekatturer Jishu" and others. He played the main character in 'Agami', which was the first parallel movie in Bangladesh, as well as in the first TV serial of Bangladesh titled 'Shokal Shondha'. Rowshan Zamil
Rawshan Jamil (8 May 1931 – 14 May 2002) was a Bangladeshi actress and dancer. She was awarded Ekushey Padak in the dance category in 1995 and Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film '' Noyonmoni'' (1976). Early life and education Jamil was born in Dhaka. Her father was Abdul Karim. After passing the matriculation exam, Jamil got admission at Shilpakala Bhavan in Wari. She later married the dance instructor Ganesh Nath (later Gauhar Jamil) in 1952. Together they set up ''Jago Art Center'' in 1959. Career Starting as an actress in television in 1965, Jamil acted in over 300 television plays, including ''Rakkhushi, Palabodol'' and ''Shokal Shondhya''. She featured in around 200 films. Ali Zaker
Aly Zaker (6 November 1944 – 27 November 2020) was a Bangladeshi actor, businessman, director and writer. He was the owner of Asiatic Marketing Communications Limited (Asiatic 3 Sixty). Zaker served as a freedom fighter during the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War. He was one of the trustees of Liberation War Museum in Dhaka. In 1999 Zakar was awarded the prestigious Ekushey Padak award by the Government of Bangladesh, which is the second highest civilian award in Bangladesh. Aly Zaker, who had cancer, died at Dhaka's United Hospital at 6:45am on 27 November 2020. He was being treated for COVID-19. Background and early life Zaker was born in Chittagong. Shimul Yusuf
Shimul Yousuf (born 24 March 1957) is a Bangladeshi actress, director and singer. She was awarded the Ekushey Padak, the second most important award for civilians in Bangladesh in 2023. Early life Yousuf was born in Dhaka on 24 March 1957 and is the youngest of seven siblings. Odissi dancer Minu Haque is her sister. Her father Mehter Billah from Bikrampur was a singer in Kamlapur. Shimul started singing at the age of five. She performed on radio and television and went on to sing in a children show named "Kochi Kanchar Mela".
