Against The Law (1997 Film)
''Against the Law'' is a 1997 American action crime directed by Jim Wynorski and starring Nick Mancuso, Nancy Allen and Richard Grieco. Plot In California, a homeless and mentally ill man, Rex, comes to believe he is a gunfighter from the American Old West, and heads for Los Angeles. While travelling, he begins a murder spree, and his victims include police officers. He becomes fixated on Los Angeles police officer John Shepard, who is in the news after killing a drug dealer in a shootout, and news anchor Maggie Hewitt, who broke the story. He terrorizes Hewitt before arriving in Los Angeles, where he challenges Shepard to a Western-style showdown at high noon. Jim Wynorski
Jim Wynorski (born August 14, 1950) is an American screenwriter, film director, director, and film producer, producer. Wynorski has been making B-movies and exploitation movies since the early 1980s, and has directed over 150 feature films. His earliest films were released to movie theaters, but his later works have predominantly been released to cable television, cable or the straight-to-video market. He often works under pseudonyms such as "Jay Andrews," "Arch Stanton," "H.R. Blueberry," "Tom Popatopolis," and "Noble Henry." His movies often spoof horror films: ''Cleavagefield'', for example, parodies ''Cloverfield'', ''The Bare Wench Project'' parodies ''The Blair Witch Project'', and ''Para-Knockers Activity'' parodies ''Paranormal Activity''. James Stephens (born May 18, 1951) is an American actor best known for his starring role as James T. Hart in the television series '' The Paper Chase''. Biography Stephens was born in Mount Kisco, New York. He is best known for his role as idealistic Minnesota-born law student James T. Hart in ''The Paper Chase'' (1978–1979 and 1983–1986), taking on the role originated by Timothy Bottoms in the movie of the same name.
