In Mourning is a melodic death metal band from Vansbro, Sweden. They are currently signed to Dalapop. They have released six full-length albums with their latest ''The Bleeding Veil'', released in November 2021. History Apart from their debut album, the band has published several self-released demos. Their debut album, ''Shrouded Divine'', released on 2 January 2008 by Aftermath Music, has received mostly favorable reviews, especially by European music websites and magazines. Their second album ''Monolith'' was released on 25 January 2010 by Pulverised Records, with which they would have a contract for two albums. Melodic Death Metal
Melodic death metal (also referred to as melodeath) is a subgenre of death metal that employs highly melodic guitar riffs, often borrowing from traditional heavy metal (including New Wave of British Heavy Metal). The genre features the heaviness of death metal but with highly melodic or harmonized guitar riffs and solos, and often features high-pitched shrieked vocals (differing from traditional death metal) alongside the low-pitched growls commonly featured in traditional death metal. Katatonia
Katatonia are a Swedish heavy metal band formed in Stockholm in 1991 by Jonas Renkse and Anders Nyström. The band started as a studio-only project for the duo, as an outlet for the band's love of death metal. Increasing popularity led them to add more band members for live performances, though outside of the band's founders, the lineup was a constantly changing, revolving door of musicians throughout the 1990s, notably including Mikael Åkerfeldt of the band Opeth for a period. After two death/doom albums, ''Dance of December Souls'' (1993) and ''Brave Murder Day'' (1996), problems with Renkse's vocal cords coupled with new musical influences led the band away from the screamed vocals of death metal to a more traditional, melodic form of heavy metal music.
