After The Fall (song)
"After the Fall" is a song by the American rock band Journey (band), Journey. Written by Jonathan Cain and Steve Perry, it was the third single released from their 1983 album ''Frontiers (Journey album), Frontiers''. Peaking at #23 on the Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart, it was the band's 11th top 40 and their ninth top 25 single. It spent 12 weeks on the chart overall. It also reached #30 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks, Mainstream Rock chart. ''Cash Box'' said the song "manages to walk the tightrope between Album-oriented rock, AOR and pop" and praised the guitar solo and the "near-perfect fade-out." The song appeared in the 1983 film ''Risky Business'', starring Tom Cruise and Rebecca De Mornay. Journey is an American rock band formed in San Francisco in 1973 by former members of Santana, Steve Miller Band, and Frumious Bandersnatch. The band currently consists of guitarist/vocalist Neal Schon (the last original member), keyboardists/vocalists Jonathan Cain and Jason Derlatka, drummer/vocalist Deen Castronovo, bassist Todd Jensen, and lead vocalist Arnel Pineda. Rebecca De Mornay (born Rebecca Jane Pearch; August 29, 1959) is an American actress and producer. Her breakthrough film role came in 1983, when she starred as Lana in ''Risky Business''. Ross Valory
Ross Lamont Valory (born February 2, 1949) is an American musician who is best known as the original bass player for the rock band Journey from 1973 to 1985 and again from 1995 to 2020. Valory was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Journey in 2017. Career Ross Valory was born on February 2, 1949 in San Francisco, California. He grew up in Lafayette, California and attended Acalanes High School. In high school, he played clarinet, bass clarinet and guitar. His mother introduced him to jazz, particularly Dave Brubeck. He played with Frumious Bandersnatch followed by Steve Miller Band appearing on ''Rock Love''. He was joined by guitarist David Denny, drummer Jack King and bassist Bobby Winkelman, all of whom would become members of the Steve Miller Band. Steven Bruce Smith (born August 21, 1954) is an American drummer best known as a member of the rock band Journey across three stints: 1978 to 1985, 1995 to 1998 and 2015 to 2020. ''Modern Drummer'' magazine readers have voted him the No. 1 All-Around Drummer five years in a row. In 2001, the publication named Smith one of the Top 25 Drummers of All Time, and in 2002 he was voted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame. Raised On Radio Tour
The Raised on Radio Tour was a concert tour by the American rock band Journey. The tour was the last with lead singer Steve Perry. Session players Randy Jackson and Mike Baird played bass and drums, respectively, as Ross Valory and Steve Smith were fired during recording sessions for the album. Valory and Smith, however, received their percentage of the profits from the tour. The tour started on August 23, 1986, at the ''Mountain Aire Festival'' in Angels Camp, California and ended February 1, 1987 in Anchorage, Alaska. Opening acts for the tour included Honeymoon Suite, The Outfield, Glass Tiger and Andy Taylor from Duran Duran. The tour was videotaped by MTV and made into a documentary, which includes interviews and concert footage of the band at the height of their career.
