After All This Time (Rodney Crowell Song)
"After All This Time" is a song written and recorded by American country music artist Rodney Crowell. It was released in January 1989 as the fourth single from the album '' Diamonds & Dirt''. It was Crowell's seventh single to reach the U.S. country music chart and the fourth of five number ones. "After All This Time" spent one week at the top and 15 weeks on chart overall. It won a 1990 Grammy Award for Best Country Song. Contrary to popular belief, it took Crowell 4 years to complete the song. Andy Williams covered this song on his 1991 album ''Nashville''. Music video The video for the song was directed by Bill Pope. It mainly features Crowell singing the song into a microphone against a black background and dressed in all black, with a few cut scenes of him in a cafe alone and noticing a waitress's name tag, only for her to comfort him (this makes him think of his lover who departed him) and him sitting on his couch tuning his guitar. Rodney Crowell (born August 7, 1950) is an American musician, known primarily for his work as a singer and songwriter in country music. Crowell has had five number one singles on Hot Country Songs, all from his 1988 album '' Diamonds & Dirt''. He has also written songs and produced for other artists. He was influenced by songwriters Guy Clark and Townes Van Zandt. Crowell played guitar and sang for three years in Emmylou Harris' Hot Band. He has won two Grammy Awards in his career, one in 1990 for Best Country Song for the song " After All This Time" and one in 2014 Best Americana Album for his album ''Old Yellow Moon''. The publication was founded by Walt Grealis in February 1964, supported through its existence by record label owner Stan Klees. ''RPM'' ceased publication in November 2000. Bill Pope, A.S.C. (born June 19, 1952) is an American cinematographer and filmmaker known for his collaborations with directors Sam Raimi, The Wachowskis and Edgar Wright. He has also photographed and directed numerous music videos for artists like Chris Isaak, Metallica and Drake, and eight episodes of the documentary series '' Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey''. Early life Pope was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He attended College High School and New York University, where he received his master's degree in Fine Arts.
