Afikpo North is a Local Government Areas of Nigeria, Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Nigeria. Its headquarters is in the town of Ehugbo, Ehugbo, Afikpo. Chris Abani
Christopher Abani (born 27 December 1966) is a Nigerian-American and Los Angeles- based author. He says he is part of a new generation of Nigerian writers working to convey to an English-speaking audience the experience of those born and raised in "that troubled African nation". Biography Abani was born in Afikpo, Ebonyi State, Nigeria. His father was Igbo, while his mother was of English descent. Abani published his first novel, ''Masters of the Board'', in 1985 at the age of 16. It was a political thriller, the plot of which was an allegory based on a coup that was carried out in Nigeria just before it was written. He was imprisoned for six months on suspicion of an attempt to overthrow the government. He continued to write after his release from jail, but was imprisoned for one year after the publication of his 1987 novel ''Sirocco.'' Akanu Ibiam
Akanu Ibiam (29 November 1906 - 1 July 1995), was a distinguished medical missionary who was appointed Governor of Eastern Region, Nigeria from December 1960 until January 1966 during the Nigerian First Republic. From 1919 to 1951, he was known as Francis Ibiam, and from 1951 to 1967, Sir Francis Ibiam. After this time, he dropped his title and his forename and was known as simply Akanu Ibiam although the honours he reportedly returned were not annulled by the British government. Priscilla Ekwere Eleje
Priscilla Ekwere Eleje is the first Director of Currency Operations at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). She is also the first woman to have her signature appended on the Nigeria Currency, the naira note. Background and education Eleje is a native of Afikpo in Ebonyi State. She obtained a Psychology degree at the University of Jos, Plateau State. She attained the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship in Banking and Management at Boston University, Massachusetts, USA. Also, she is a Certified Information System Auditor (CISA). Career Eleje was appointed as the substantive Director of Currency Operations of the Nigerian apex bank, CBN, in August 2018. Onyebuchi Chukwu
Onyebuchi Chukwu (born 22 April 1962) is a Nigerian politician who served as Minister of Health from 2010 until 2014. Early life and education Chukwu was born in Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria. Nnamdi Benjamin Azikiwe, (16 November 1904 – 11 May 1996), usually referred to as "Zik", was a Nigerian statesman and political leader who served as the first President of Nigeria from 1963 to 1966. Considered a driving force behind the nation's independence, he came to be known as the "father of Nigerian Nationalism". Uche Ewah Azikiwe , (born 4 February 1947) is a Nigerian academic, educator and author. She is the widow of former President of Nigeria Nnamdi Azikiwe. She is a professor in the Department of Educational Foundation, Faculty of Education at University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
