Aeolus (marque)
Aeolus (Dongfeng Fengshen) is an automobile marque owned by the Chinese automaker Dongfeng Passenger Vehicle Company, a division of Dongfeng Motor Group. The brand was launched in July 2009 using the Fengshen name, and was later renamed to Aeolus as the English name, while the Chinese name remained the same (). Some of its products are based on those of PSA Peugeot Citroën, such as Fengshen L60, launched by Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroën in 2015. History The Fengshen name was first used as a vehicle model name by Yunbao Automobile, a joint-venture set up by the Taiwanese Yulon Motor. During the late 1990s, Nissan of Japan was formally added as a partner in the Yunbao joint-venture which resulted in the first Fengshen, the Yunbao Fengshen 7200, a rebadged model line based on the Nissan Bluebird U13 that was launched in the Chinese market in 1998. The Dongfeng Fengshen A60 is a compact sedan produced by Dongfeng Motor Corporation under the Dongfeng Fengshen sub-brand. Overview The Dongfeng Fengshen A60 sedan debuted during the 2011 Guangzhou Auto Show and production started in December 2011, with the A60 being listed on the market in March 2012. The Dongfeng Fengshen A60 compact sedan shares the same platform as the later introduced Fengxing Jingyi S50 compact sedan with both cars based on the Nissan Sylphy produced by the Dongfeng-Nissan joint venture in China. The Aeolus AX3 is a subcompact crossover SUV produced by Dongfeng Motor Corporation under the Aeolus (Dongfeng Fengshen) sub-brand. Overview The Aeolus AX3 was unveiled on the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show with the market launch in January 2016 revealing prices ranging from 69,700 yuan to 87,700 yuan. Specifications The Aeolus AX3 is powered by a 1.5 liter engine producing 116hp and 145nm mated to a five-speed manual gearbox or a four-speed automatic gearbox, and a 1.4 liter turbo engine producing 140hp and 196nm available with the five-speed manual gearbox. A first prototype called Dongfeng DFM7160 was built on the chassis of the Citroën Fukang (the Chinese version of the Citroën ZX) and was a three-volume sedan with front lights of the Peugeot 206 and rear lights of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class while the doors and cockpit were the same as the Citroën Elysée. The Peugeot 408 is a compact car (C-segment) produced by Peugeot. It was unveiled on January 25, 2010, at the Beijing Auto Show and sales began in China on April 8, 2010. In November 2010, production of the 408 commenced in El Palomar, Buenos Aires, Argentina, with sales starting in April 2011. The Citroën Fukang or Dongfeng Fukang is a series of compact vehicles available in a variety of body styles. It was the first in a range of cars produced for the Chinese market by the Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroën Automobile group, a joint venture between the French PSA Peugeot Citroën and Chinese manufacturer Dongfeng Motor Corporation. Overview The first Fukang appeared in 1992 as a semi-knock down production, rebadged Citroën ZX hatchback. The car was called the Fukang DC7140 in China, the name translating as ‘Prosperity and Health’ in Chinese.
