Adventures (American Band)
Adventures was an American rock band from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was formed in 2012 by three members of the hardcore punk band Code Orange – Joe Goldman, Reba Meyers and Jami Morgan – with their friends Kimi Hanauer and Dominic Landolina (now also a member of Code Orange). They were initially signed to No Sleep Records, but later transferred to Run for Cover Records. Adventures have released four EPs, followed by the 2015 studio album ''Supersonic Home''. On March 5, 2015, the band played Hostage Calm's final show at Toad's Place in New Haven, CT alongside TWIABP, Superheaven, and Sorority Noise. Foxing (band)
Foxing is an American indie rock band from St. Louis, Missouri. The band has released four studio albums, a live album, an EP and 12 singles. History Foxing began in 2011 following the end of the group Hunter Gatherer, a post-rock band active from 2008 to 2010 that featured Josh Coll, Jon Hellwig and Matthew Piva. The initial lineup of the band shortly expanded to include Conor Murphy, who was then the bassist of the then active emo group Family Might and formerly the vocalist of the indie/post-rock band Torchlight Red. It also included guitarist Ben Helman of the melodic post-punk band Eagle Scout. In late 2011, Helman left the group, and Jim Fitzpatrick of Falsetto Boy and Muscle Brain took his place. Emo is a rock music genre characterized by emotional, often confessional lyrics. It emerged as a style of and hardcore punk from the Washington D.C. hardcore punk scene, where it was known as emotional hardcore or emocore and pioneered by bands such as Rites of Spring and Embrace. In the early–mid 1990s, emo was adopted and reinvented by alternative rock, indie rock and/or punk rock bands such as Sunny Day Real Estate, Jawbreaker, Weezer, Cap'n Jazz, and Jimmy Eat World. LVL UP was an American lo-fi band from Purchase, New York, United States. History LVL UP formed in 2011 at SUNY Purchase as a recording project between Mike Caridi, Dave Benton, and their friend Ben Smith, with the original intention of releasing a split cassette with Nick Corbo's then-solo material. They instead released their debut album, ''Space Brothers'' via Evil Weevil Records, as one band, and Greg Rutkin joined shortly afterwards for the group's first show. Smith left the band for personal reasons just before the release of second album ''Hoodwink'd'', a joint release on Caridi and Benton's label Double Double Whammy and Exploding in Sound. Basement are an English rock band formed in 2009 in Ipswich, Suffolk, England. Their first studio album, ''I Wish I Could Stay Here'', was released in 2011. Whirr (band)
Whirr is a shoegaze band from the San Francisco Bay Area. The group formed in 2010, originally as Whirl, but had to legally change its name after a woman performing acoustic covers of Black Sabbath songs trademarked the name and threatened a lawsuit. Whirr's shoegaze sound is often compared to My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive. Founding guitarist Nick Bassett also played in the band Deafheaven surrounding and including the release of their 2011 album ''Roads to Judah''. History Whirr self-released a demo cassette and the EP ''Distressor'' before signing to Tee Pee Records in 2011. Superheaven (formerly known as Daylight) is an American alternative rock band from Doylestown, Pennsylvania, a borough outside of Philadelphia and within the Philadelphia metro area. Their music has been described as reminiscent of 1990s grunge and shoegaze. History As Daylight, the band formed early in 2008 and released their debut extended play ''Sinking'' in 2009 via Get This Right Records.
