Albert Adu Boahen
Albert Kwadwo Adu Boahen (24 May 1932 – 24 May 2006) was a Ghanaian academic, historian, and politician. He was an academic at the University of Ghana from 1959 to 1990, from 1971 onwards as a professor. As a politician, he notably was a candidate in the 1992 Ghanaian presidential election, representing the main opposition New Patriotic Party. Career Academia Boahen was born in Oseim to Presbyterian parents, and had his ancestral roots in Juaben in the Ashanti Region. He attended religious schools between 1938 and 1947. He then spent three years at the Mfantsipim School before enrolling in history studies at the University College of the Gold Coast in Legon. He graduated in 1956. In 1959 he received a Ph.D. in African history from the School of Oriental and African Studies in London, as the first Ghanaian. Enoch Kofi Adu (born 14 September 1990) is a Ghanaian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Allsvenskan club Mjällby AIF. Club career Early career and Nice Born in Kumasi, Ghana, Adu started his professional career in 2006 at local club Liberty Professionals F.C. Gen. Francis Adu Amanfoh is a Ghanaian army personnel and diplomat. He has the rank of major general in the Ghana Army. He was appointed by John Agyekum Kufour as Ghana's ambassador to Liberia from February 2006 until March 2009. Education and working life Francis Adu Amanfoh had his secondary school education at Prempeh College where he obtained his GCE Advanced level certificate. In May 2005 he was appointed Head of Defence Intelligence in the Ghana Armed Forces. and was posted as Ambassador to Liberia on 27 January 2006. Fredua Koranteng Adu (born June 2, 1989) is an American professional soccer player who played as an attacking midfielder. The last club he played for was Ettan Fotboll club Österlen FF. Hans Adu Sarpei (born 28 June 1976) is a Ghanaian former professional footballer who played as a full-back. He also was a long time regular for the Ghana national team. Sarpei most recently played for his country at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Club career Sarpei was born in Tema. Kofi Adu (born May 25, 1969),is originally from the Ashanti Region of Ghana but lived in a suburb in Accra Newtown called Asantewaa, also known as Agya Koo, is an actor and comedian from Ghana. He has appeared in over 200 Ghanaian movies including ''Obaatanpa'', ''Away Bus'', ''Black Star'', and ''Ma Tricki Wo''. Career Adu is originally from the Ashanti Region of Ghana, but lived in a suburb in Accra Newtown called Asantewaa. He worked as a cobbler. Adu was discovered on a Ghanaian comedy show on GTV (Ghana National Television) at the National Theater in Accra, where he worked as a comedian warming up the crowd before the main drama is staged. Richard Adu-Bobie (born 12 January 1985) is a Canadian sprinter. He was an alternate for Canada's 4 × 100 m relay team at the 2004 Summer Olympics. He was an alternate for the same team at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Born in Manchester, New Hampshire to Ghanaian parents, Adu-Bobie moved to Canada at a young age and received his Canadian citizenship just two days prior to the Olympic trials. Adu-Bobie attended Sir Wilfrid Laurier Secondary School in Ottawa, Canada, where he first launched into his sprinting career. Following the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Adu-Bobie went to the University of Florida where he placed third in the 60-yard dash at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship.
