Adolfo A. Buylla
Adolfo Álvarez-Buylla and González-Alegre (1 December 1850 – 27 October 1927) was a Spanish economist, politic, professor, jurist, pedagogue, and social reformer. He was one of the members of the , and a professor of Political Economy at the Universities of Valladolid, Oviedo, and in the '' Real Academia de Ciencias Morales y Políticas''. He was also a professor and president of the Ateneo de Madrid. His writings began to be published when he was still very young, collaborating with the ''Revista de Asturias'', among others. Early life and education Buylla was born on 1 December 1850 in Oviedo, as a descendent from two of the most representative families of the progressive and republican bourgeoisie of Asturias. He was the legitimate son of the doctor Plácido Álvarez-Buylla and María de la Concepción González-Alegre. Oviedo (; ast, Uviéu ) is the capital city of the Principality of Asturias in northern Spain and the administrative and commercial centre of the region. Leopoldo Alas
Leopoldo Enrique García-Alas y Ureña (25 April 1852 – 13 June 1901), also known as Clarín, was a Spanish realist novelist born in Zamora. His inflammatory articles, known as ''paliques'' (“chitchat”), as well as his advocacy of liberalism and anti-clericalism, made him a formidable and controversial critical voice. He died in Oviedo. Biography Alas was born in Zamora, from Asturian parents who moved to that city. He spent his childhood living in León and Guadalajara, until he moved to Oviedo (Asturias) in 1863. José Canalejas Y Méndez
José Canalejas y Méndez (31 July 1854 – 12 November 1912) was a Spanish politician, born in Ferrol, who served as Prime Minister of Spain. Early life Son of a railway engineer, politician and editor of the newspaper '' El Eco Ferrolano '' José Canalejas y Casas and of María del Amparo Méndez Romero. Segismundo Moret y Prendergast (2 June 1833 – 28 January 1913) was a Spanish politician and writer. He was the prime minister of Spain on three occasions and the president of the Congress of Deputies on two occasions. Biography Moret was born in Cádiz on 2 June 1833. His mother's family, the Prendergast (surname), Prendergasts, were of Irish people, Irish descent. He studied at the Complutense University of Madrid, ''Universidad Central'' in Madrid, where, in 1858, he became professor of political economy while he continued his studies in jurisprudence.
