Adnan Abu Hassan
Datuk Adnan bin Abu Hassan (6 January 1959 – 18 March 2016) was a Malaysian composer and musician. He is considered to be among the top notch individuals developing the Malaysian music industry. Education He held a bachelor's degree from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. He started his career as a lecturer in the Universiti Teknologi Mara. Career Soon after the graduation, he became the A&R Director for CBS Records, Managing Director of Happy Records and Suria Records. Soon he became the Director of A&R for both BMG Music and Delima Records. He was appointed as the Principal and Director of Jam Music Centre, Album Producer and Composer, who is also the Creative Director for Jam/Treeman Corporation. ''Anugerah Juara Lagu'' (literally: "Song Championship Award"), commonly known by the acronym AJL, is a popular annual music competition in Malaysia, organised by TV3 since 1986. ''Akademi Fantasia'' (commonly abbreviated as ''AF'') is Malaysia's first reality television show in which a number of contestants called students compete for the winning title and a chance to start their career in the entertainment industry. The first season premiered on 3 June 2003 and was one of Astro Ria's highest rated shows. The theme song entitled "Menuju Puncak" was performed by Juwita Suwito, who is the sister of the composer, Aubrey Suwito. Dato' Jamal Ubaidillah bin Haji Mohd Ali (born 7 May 1959), known by his stage name Jamal Abdillah, is a Malaysian pop singer and actor with a "bad boy" image. Jamal began his singing career in 1973. He won Radio Televisyen Malaysia's Bintang RTM competition in 1979. Following his victory, he continued to sing but also appeared in films such as 'Azura'. Jamal is the eldest of seven siblings.
