The Administrator Superior of Wallis and Futuna is the representative of the President of France in Wallis and Futuna. The current Administrator Superior is Hervé Jonathan, since 11 January 2021. The post was created in 1961, after Wallis and Futuna become a France, French Overseas territory (France), overseas territory. In 2003, the status was changed to that of an overseas collectivity. Paolantoni was appointed the French Administrator Superior of Wallis and Futuna on Monday 28 July 2008, succeeding his predecessor Richard Didier. Thierry Queffelec (born 27 August 1962) is a French senior civil servant, former Administrator of Wallis and Futuna, and current Prefect of French Guiana. Biography Thierry Queffelec was born on 27 August 1962 in Thionville, France. He graduated from the Special Military School of Saint-Cyr. Richard Didier (born 23 February 1961 in Chatou, France) is a French senior civil servant. He served as the Administrator Superior of Wallis and Futuna for two years, from 2006 to 2008. Didier was marked with tensions and succession struggles between several of Wallis and Futuna's royal families and clans following the death of Tomasi Kulimoetoke II in 2007.
