Opal Palmer Adisa (born 6 November 1954) is a Jamaica-born award-winning poet, novelist, performance artist and educator. Anthologized in more than 400 publications, she has been a regular performer of her work internationally. Professor Emeritus at California College of the Arts, Dr. Adisa is also the current Director of the Institute for Gender and Development Studies at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Jamaica, where she currently resides. Early life Adisa was raised ten miles outside Kingston, Jamaica, and attended school in the capital. In 1970 she went to study at Hunter College, New York, and in 1979 moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to pursue an MA in creative writing. Abdulkareem Adisa
Abdulkareem Adisa (; 22 August 1948 – 25 February 2005) was a Nigerian major general who was military governor of Oyo State (August 1990 – January 1992) during the military regime of General Ibrahim Babangida. He was convicted for involvement in an attempted coup against military head of state General Sani Abacha in 1997, and was on death row when Abacha died in June 1998. He was subsequently pardoned. Early years and education Abdulkareem Adisa was born in Ilorin, now in Kwara State. He attended Quranic School in Ilorin between 1951-1953 and received his elementary education at Catholic Primary School, Ibuso Gboro Ibadan from 1953 to 1958. Lawrence B. Adisa (born October 3, 1968) is an American actor, producer, and writer. Adisa is majorly known for Clockers (1995), New York Undercover, and 7th Heaven. Adisa Akil Isaac (born October 4, 2001) is an American football defensive end. He played college football at Penn State. Early life and high school Isaac was born on October 4, 2001, in Brooklyn, New York. He attended Canarsie High School in Canarsie, Brooklyn, where he played defensive end and recorded 210 tackles and 39 sacks. He committed to Penn State University to play college football.
