Ade Surapriatna
Muhammad Ade Surapriatna (born 7 November 1951) is an Indonesian politician who was a member of the People's Representative Council between 2009 and 2014. He was also a member of the Jakarta Regional People's Representative Council between 1992 and 2009, serving as the council's speaker between 2004 and 2009 and its deputy speaker between 1997 and 2004. Early life and career Muhammad Ade Surapriatna was born on 7 November 1951 in Jakarta from Abdul Kirom Imam and Siti Salha. He was the third of eleven children. He studied in Jakarta, and graduated from the National Maritime Academy in 1969. He then worked at several companies. During his studies, he had joined the students' regiment in 1971, becoming involved in the newly formed Golkar. People's Representative Council
The People's Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia ( id, Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Republik Indonesia, DPR-RI), also known as the House of Representatives, is one of two elected chambers of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), the national legislature of Indonesia. Legislative elections were held in Indonesia on 9 April 2014 to elect 136 members of the Regional Representative Council (DPD), 560 members of the People's Representative Council (DPR) and members of regional assemblies at the provincial and regency/municipality level. 2009 Indonesian Legislative Election
Legislative elections were held in Indonesia on 9 April 2009 for 132 seats of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) and 560 seats of the People's Representative Council (DPR). A total of 38 parties met the requirements to be allowed to participate in the national elections, with a further six contesting in Aceh only. Fauzi Bowo
Fauzi Bowo (born 10 April 1949) is an Indonesian politician and diplomat who was the Indonesian Ambassador to Germany from 2013 to 2018. He was the governor of Jakarta between 2007 and 2012 and previously served as deputy governor from 2002 to 2007 under Sutiyoso's governorship. He has worked for the Jakarta municipal administration since 1977 and was once a treasurer of the Golkar organization from 1992 to 1997. On 9 August 2007, he was elected governor of Jakarta for the 2007–2012 term, beating his only rival Adang Daradjatun 57.9% to 42.1% in the first ever election for the post. 2007 Jakarta Gubernatorial Election
A gubernatorial election was held in Jakarta on 8 August 2007 to elect the Governor of Jakarta for the five-year term between 2007 and 2012. It was the first direct election for the capital city. Incumbent Sutiyoso did not participate in the election, with his deputy Fauzi Bowo facing off against former police general Adang Daradjatun.
