Addison Airport Toll Tunnel
The Addison Airport Toll Tunnel, also known as the Addison Airport Tunnel and the Addison Toll Tunnel, is part of the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) system and extends Keller Springs Road under the Addison Airport property. Built for the NTTA, this toll tunnel enables vehicular traffic to travel ''under'' rather than around the airport, which expands traffic capacity and eases the notorious congestion of north Dallas and Addison by providing an east–west route between the Dallas North Tollway and Interstate 35E under the Addison Airport runway. It provides motorists a through passage on Keller Springs Road, which once ended on either side of Addison Airport, as an alternate route to the heavily traveled Belt Line Road and Trinity Mills Road. Addison is an incorporated town in Dallas County, Texas, in the United States. Addison is situated to the immediate north of the city of Dallas, with a 2020 census population of 16,661. Addison and Flower Mound were the only two Texas municipalities labeled "towns" with a population greater than 10,000 at the 2010 census; since then the municipalities of Prosper and Trophy Club—also identifying as towns—have also exceeded 10,000 in population estimates. Belt Line Road is a loop road that traverses through 16 cities in Dallas County, Texas. Belt Line Road is the outer complete loop which encircles Dallas, in contrast with I-635 which forms a partial inner loop, Loop 12 which forms a complete inner loop, and President George Bush Turnpike (SH 190), a partial outer loop. Belt Line Road is not designated as a Texas State Loop, but as a local street in each jurisdiction through which it passes.
