Siekiera (Polish for ''"Axe"'') was a Polish post-punk band. With fast, aggressive music and lyrics filled with obscenities, the band was a sensation at the 1984 Jarocin Festival. After lineup changes, the band switched to new wave and then dissolved in 1988. Career Siekiera formed in 1982 or 1983 in Puławy, Poland, under the name of "Trafo". The original line-up consisted of guitarist Tomasz Adamski, vocalist Tomasz Budzyński, bass player Jerzy Janaczek, and drummer Irek "Borys" Czerniak. Stanisław Adamski
Stanisław Adamski (12 April 1875 – 12 November 1967) was a Polish bishop, politician, and social and political activist of the Union of Catholic Societies of Polish Workers (Związek Katolickich Towarzystw Robotników Polskich), founder and editor of the 'Robotnik' (Worker) weekly. Adamski was born in Zielonagóra. He was a Sejm deputy (1919–1922) and senator (1922–1927). During World War II, Germans prevented him from carrying out his duties (1940–1945). Later, he was repressed by the communist government, removed from office in 1952, and upon being allowed in 1956, due to old age, delegated the responsibility to others. He died in Katowice. Philippe Adamski (born 8 April 1985) is a French orienteering competitor. He has been a member of the French club Tous Azimuts Douai since he started orienteering. He also runs for Finnish club Kalevan Rasti. Career Adamski started competitive orienteering relatively late, when he was 17, after having some practice at school.
