Adamo Chiusole
Count Adamo Chiusole (1728 - 1787) was an Austrian painter and art historian. He mainly painted subjects with animals, landscapes and capricci. Biography He was born in Chiusole, a neighborhood of Pomarolo in the Vallagarina, in the Province of Trentino, region of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol. He studied first in Siena, then in Rome under Pompeo Battoni. In Rome, he resided in the Palazzo of the gran contestabile Lorenzo Colonna family, Colonna, his fellow pupil. He then gained the patronage of Cardinal Scipione Borghese. He was named Count of the Holy Palace and Knight of the Order of the Golden Spur by Pope Benedict XIV. Chiusole turned down and offer to be the inspector of the Royal Gallery of Berlin under Frederick the Great of Prussia. He did publish a book praising the King. In addition, to painting, he was versatile as a writer of both prose and poetry. He is described as having a ''clear style but without energy''. Pomarolo
Pomarolo (''Pomaròl'' in local dialect) is a ''comune'' (municipality) in Trentino located around southwest of Trento in the northern Italian region of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol. Overview The municipality of Pomarolo contains the ''subdivisions'' Chiusole and Savignano. Pomarolo borders the cities of Cimone, Aldeno, Villa Lagarina, Nomi, Volano, and Rovereto. Pomarolo is a community in the province of Trento which sits near the Adige river and at the foot of Mt Cimana. Cabernet, Merlot, Sauvignon blanc and Schiava vineyards are prevalent in the surrounding area, as are fruit orchards. Rovereto (; "wood of sessile oaks"; locally: ''Roveredo'') is a city and ''comune'' in Trentino in northern Italy, located in the Vallagarina valley of the Adige River. Lagarina Valley ( it, Vallagarina, german: Lagertal) is a valley in northern Italy, used to define the lower mountain course of the Adige River. It is mostly included in the province of Trentino, with the lower section being part of the province of Verona. The largest town is Rovereto. Geography The upper limit of the valley is generally set at the so-called "Murazzi", north to Besenello and about south to Trento. Above this it is known as Val d'Adige. Pope Benedict IV
Pope Benedict IV ( la, Benedictus IV; c. 840 - 30 July 903) was the bishop of Rome and ruler of the Papal States from 1 February 900 to his death. The tenth-century historian Flodoard, who nicknamed him "the Great", commended his noble birth and public generosity. Benedict was a native of Rome, the son of one Mammalus, and was ordained priest by Pope Formosus. He succeeded Pope John IX. In 900, he excommunicated Count Baldwin II of Flanders for murdering Archbishop Fulk of Reims. In 901, Benedict crowned Louis the Blind as emperor. In 902, Berengar of Friuli defeated Louis III and forced him to leave Italy. Benedict died in Rome during the summer of 903; it is possible that Berengar had some involvement.
