Adambakkam Lake
''Adambakkam Lake'' is a lake in Chennai district, Tamil Nadu. This lake gives the name for the nearby locality of Chennai, the area of Adambakkam. Chennai Monsoon times This lake also provides a place for the flood water to drain into during the monsoon. This makes the lake very significant, like all lakes in the Chennai district. But the Water Hyacinth occupying the areas in and around the lake is a major worry for the people near it, as it retains some the flood water. Chennai District
Chennai district, formerly known as Madras district, is one of the 38 districts in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is the smallest and the most densely populated district in the state. Adambakkam is a neighbourhood of Chennai, India. It is primarily a residential locality situated in South Chennai . Adambakkam area comes under Velachery taluk and Alandur taluk, Chennai District of Chennai Corporation. The Environmentalist Foundation of India (E.F.I) is an environmental conservation group based out of Chennai, Hyderabad, Puducherry, Bangalore, Trivandrum, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Coimbatore which focuses on wildlife conservation and habitat restoration.
