Adam Szentpétery
Szentpétery Ádám (; born 24 February 1956) is a Hungarian artist in Slovakia and the Department Head/Professor of the Studio of Contemporary Image at the Faculty of Arts at the Technical University of Košice, Slovakia. He is known primarily for his abstract painting with strong geometrically organized canvases in a highly original manner with a very intense but at the same time refined colorism. Life and career Szentpétery was born in Rožňava, Czechoslovakia. From 1971 to 1975 he studied at the School of Applied Arts in Košice (department of graphic arts). Rožňava
Rožňava ( hu, Rozsnyó, german: Rosenau, Latin: ''Rosnavia'') is a town in Slovakia, approximately by road from Košice in the Košice Region, and has a population of 19,182. The town is an economic and tourist centre of the Gemer. Rožňava is now a popular tourist attraction with a beautiful historic town centre. The town is an episcopal seat. It has above all food, textile and remnants of mining industries. History Archaeological finds show that the region was densely settled by miners as early as around 1200. Contemporary history, in English-language historiography, is a subset of modern history that describes the historical period from approximately 1945 to the present. Hungarians are the largest ethnic minority in Slovakia. According to th2021 Slovak census 422,065 people (or 7.75% of the population) declared themselves Hungarians, while 462,175 (8.48% of the population) stated that Hungarian was their mother tongue.
