Adam Rossington
Adam Matthew Rossington (born 5 May 1993) is an English professional cricketer who plays for Essex County Cricket Club. Rossington is a right-handed batsman who fields as a wicket-keeper. He was born in Edgware, Middlesex, and was educated at Mill Hill School. County career Rossington made his first-class cricket debut for Middlesex against Oxford MCCU at the University Parks in 2010. The following season he made his second first-class appearance against the touring Sri Lankans at Uxbridge. He also made his Twenty20 debut during the 2011 season against Kent in the Friends Provident t20. He made three further appearances in that season's competition, scoring a total of 27 runs at an average of 6.75, with a high score of 25. Rossington made his List A debut against the West Indian tourists in June 2012. Edgware
Edgware () is a suburban town in northern Greater London, mostly in the London Borough of Barnet but with small parts falling in the London Borough of Harrow and in the London Borough of Brent. Wicket-keeper
The wicket-keeper in the sport of cricket is the player on the fielding side who stands behind the wicket or stumps being watchful of the batsman and ready to take a catch, stump the batsman out and run out a batsman when occasion arises. The wicket-keeper is the only member of the fielding side permitted to wear gloves and external leg guards. The role of the keeper is governed by Law 27 of the Laws of Cricket. NatWest T20 Blast
The T20 Blast, currently named the Vitality Blast for sponsorship reasons, is a professional Twenty20 cricket competition for English and Welsh first-class counties. The competition was established by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 as the first professional Twenty20 league in the world. It is the top-level Twenty20 competition in England and Wales. The competition has been known by a variety of names due to commercial sponsorship. Durham County Cricket Club
Durham County Cricket Club (rebranded as Durham Cricket in February 2019) is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Durham. Founded in 1882, Durham held minor status for over a century and was a prominent member of the Minor Counties Championship, winning the competition seven times. In 1992, the club joined the County Championship and the team was elevated to senior status as an official first-class team. Not Out
In cricket, a batter is not out if they come out to bat in an innings and have not been dismissed by the end of an innings. The batter is also ''not out'' while their innings is still in progress. Occurrence At least one batter is not out at the end of every innings, because once ten batters are out, the eleventh has no partner to bat on with so the innings ends. Usually two batters finish not out if the batting side declares in first-class cricket, and often at the end of the scheduled number of overs in limited overs cricket. Batters further down the batting order than the not out batters do not come out to the crease at all and are noted as ''did not bat'' rather than ''not out''; by contrast, a batter who comes to the crease but faces no balls is ''not out''. Batting Average (cricket)
In cricket, a player's batting average is the total number of runs they have scored divided by the number of times they have been out, usually given to two decimal places. Since the number of runs a player scores and how often they get out are primarily measures of their own playing ability, and largely independent of their teammates, batting average is a good metric for an individual player's skill as a batter (although the practice of drawing comparisons between players on this basis is not without criticism). The number is also simple to interpret intuitively. If all the batter's innings were completed (i.e. they were out every innings), this is the average number of runs they score per innings. 2011 Friends Provident T20
The 2011 Friends Life t20 was the second season of the Friends Life t20, England's premier domestic Twenty20 competition. The season ran from 1 June to 27 August 2011. The teams in the tournament remained the same as the previous season. The schedule of the tournament had been widely criticised for being too long and therefore certain games had very few fans. The ECB announced that they retained the same schedule as it generates a lot of revenue for the smaller counties. Kent County Cricket Club
Kent County Cricket Club is one of the eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Kent. A club representing the county was first founded in 1842 but Kent teams have played top-class cricket since the early 18th century, and the club has always held first-class status. The current Kent County Cricket Club was formed on 6 December 1870 following the merger of two representative teams. 2011 English Cricket Season
The 2011 English cricket season was the 112th in which the County Championship had been an official competition. It began on 2 April with a round of university matches, and continued until the final of the Clydesdale Bank 40 on 17 September. Three major domestic competitions were contested: the 2011 County Championship won by Lancashire, the 2011 Clydesdale Bank 40 won by Surrey and the 2011 Friends Life t20 won by Leicestershire. Uxbridge Cricket Club Ground
Uxbridge Cricket Ground opened in 1971. Uxbridge Cricket Club moved here after a redevelopment of Uxbridge High Street saw the club move from their Cricketfield Road ground. The present ground is situated across from Uxbridge Common on which the team used to play during the 19th century. Teams using the ground Middlesex Middlesex County Cricket Club first used the ground competitively in 1980 on their way on to winning the County Championship in a match against Derbyshire. Middlesex won by 9 wickets, with Vintcent van der Bijl taking 10 wickets in the match. However Middlesex had used the ground once before when they played the West Indies cricket team in a friendly one day match, just before the 1979 World Cup. The Oxford University Parks, commonly referred to locally as the University Parks, or just The Parks, is a large parkland area slightly northeast of the city centre in Oxford, England. The park is bounded to the east by the River Cherwell, though a small plot of land called Mesopotamia sits between the upper and lower levels of the river.
