Adam Quesnell
Adam Quesnell is an American stand-up comedian and screenwriter from Fargo, North Dakota now living in Los Angeles. Quesnell has released two comedy albums on Stand Up! Records, 2014's ''Can We Afford This Much Despair?'' and 2018's ''Despair 2: Social Justice Warlord'', as well as the 2018 single ''Egghead''. Early life Quesnell was born in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, where he graduated from Lincoln High School. His father, Curt Quesnell, was a broadcaster on Thief River Falls radio stations KKAQ-AM and KKDQ-FM, where he hosted the longtime show ''North Country Outdoors Radio'', and a fishing guide on Lake of the Woods. He earned an MFA in scriptwriting in 2007 from Minnesota State University Moorhead. High Plains Reader
The ''High Plains Reader'' is an alternative newspaper serving the Fargo metropolitan area, with an estimated readership of 20,000 to 30,000 weekly between print and online readers. The tabloid was founded in 1994 by Ian Swanson, Peter Ryan, and Len Schmid in Grand Forks, North Dakota and is currently owned by Raul Gomez and John Strand who purchased the paper in late December 1996. After a flood and fire destroyed their Grand Forks office, the ''Reader'' moved its office to Fargo. In 2004, the ''Reader'' celebrated its 10th anniversary in different venues in the Fargo-Moorhead area, including Ralph's Corner Bar. Distribution ended in the Grand Forks area in 2009. Dan Schlissel is an American record producer from Minneapolis, Minnesota, and founder of the record labels Stand Up! Records, which specializes in comedy, and -ismist Recordings, which focused on punk and alternative rock from Nebraska and nearby Midwestern states. Schlissel won a Grammy as producer of Lewis Black's 2006 album ''The Carnegie Hall Performance'', and was nominated for his work on Black's two Grammy-nominated albums, ''Luther Burbank Performing Arts Center Blues'' and ''Anticipation''. He is known for his work with Black and other comics including Doug Stanhope, Maria Bamford, Marc Maron, and Mitch Hedberg, and helping release the debut record of Iowa metal band Slipknot.
