Adalet Ağaoğlu (née Sümer; 23 October 1929 – 14 July 2020) was a Turkish women, Turkish Turkish women in literature, novelist and Theatre in Turkey, playwright, considered one of the foremost novelists of 20th-century Turkish literature. She also wrote essays, memoirs, and short story, short stories. Life She was born on 23 October 1929 in Nallıhan. Her father is Hafız Mustafa Sümer, a fabric merchant. She is the second child and only daughter of a family of four children. Her siblings are Cazip Sümer (1925-1975), playwright, actor Güner Sümer (1936-1977) and businessman Ayhan Sümer (1930-2020). After completing her primary education in Nallıhan, she moved to Ankara with her family in 1938. Nallıhan
Nallıhan is a rural town and district of Ankara Province in the Central Anatolia Region, Turkey, Central Anatolia region of Turkey, 157km from the city of Ankara. According to the 2010 census, population of the district is 30,571 of which 12,457 live in the town of Nallıhan. The district covers an area of 1,978km², and the average elevation is 625 m. The Human Rights Association ( tr, İnsan Hakları Derneği, İHD) is an NGO for advancing Human rights in Turkey, founded in 1986 and headquartered in Ankara. Establishment The İHD's origins can be traced to the victims of the purges in the aftermath of the military coup of 1980 and was founded on 17 July 1986. The 98 founding members comprised lawyers, journalists, intellectuals, but mainly relatives of political prisoners.
