Ad Dhahirah North Governorate
Al Dhahirah (; ''Muḥāfaẓat aẓ-Ẓāhirah'') is one of the governorates (''muhafazah'') of Oman. It was previously a region (''mintaqah''). It became a governorate on 28 October 2011. Economy The governorate is the location of the biggest oil field in Oman, Yibal, which started operations in 1968. Dhank ( ar, ضنك) is a wilayah (province) of Ad Dhahirah Governorate in Oman. It borders the provinces of Al Buraimi on the northwest, Ibri on the southwest and Yanqul on the east. Al Batinah Region
Al-Bāţinah ( ar, ٱلْبَاطِنَة) was one of the regions ''( Mintaqat)'' of Oman. On 28 October 2011, Al-Batinah Region was split into Al Batinah North Governorate and Al Batinah South Governorate. The region occupied an important location on the coast of Gulf of Oman. It lay between Khatmat Malahah in the north and Ras al-Hamra in the south, and confined between Al Hajar Mountains in the west and the Gulf of Oman in the east. Most of Oman's population were in that region, because of the green plains between the Hajar Mountains and the sea. Al Buraimi Governorate
Al Buraimi Governorate ( ar, مُحَافَظَة ٱلْبُرَيْمِي, Muḥāfaẓat Al-Buraimī) is one of the 11 governorates of Oman which was split from the Ad Dhahirah Region. Until October 2006, the area was part of Ad Dhahirah Region. At this time, the new governorate was created from the Wilayats (Provinces) of Al Buraymi and Mahdah. A third wilayat, As- Sunaynah, was created from parts of the two. The town of Al-Buraimi is an oasis town in northwestern Oman, on the border of the United Arab Emirates. An adjacent city on the UAE's side of the border is Al Ain. Both settlements are part of the historical region of Tawam or Al-Buraimi Oasis. Mahdha
Mahdah ( ar, مَحْضَة, Maḥḍah, or '' Wilāyat Maḥḍah'' (), is an Omani territory north of the town of al Buraimi which borders the emirates of Sharjah, Ajman and Dubai. It was previously necessary to pass through Mahdah when travelling through Madam to reach the Ajman exclave of Masfut, as well as the Dubai exclave of Hatta, a tourist spot popular for its hotel, heritage village and the famous (although now a metalled road) Hatta track. The Mleiha road bypasses Mahdah for travel from the Emirates' coastal towns to Hatta and Masfut. Mahdah contains the township of Rawdah and is governed from Buraimi.
