Acácio Cordeiro Barreto (born 20 January 1959), best known as Acácio, is a Brazilian former football (soccer) player, who played as a goalkeeper, best known for his performances for Vasco da Gama. He was born in Campos dos Goytacazes, Rio de Janeiro State. During his career (1978–1996) he played for Americano, Serrano, Vasco da Gama, Madureira and in Portugal with Tirsense and Beira-Mar. He won three Campeonato Carioca (1982, 1987, 1988) and one Campeonato Brasileiro Série A (1989). For the Brazilian team he played seven matches in 1989, and was part of the 1990 FIFA World Cup roster as an unused substitute. Acácio Mora da Silva (born 2 January 1961 in Montalegre, Portugal) is a Portuguese former professional road bicycle racer. He was a professional from 1982 to 1994 during which he won stages in the Tour de France, the Giro d'Italia and stages in many other stage races. He won three stages in total in the Tour de France, one in 1987, one in 1988 and one in 1989. After his stage win in 1989, he wore the yellow jersey as leader of the general classification for four days. In 1986 he won the Züri-Metzgete and was also the Portuguese national road champion. Adrião Acácio da Silveira Pinto (born late 18th century – died 1868) served as a staff officer (Captain later Lieutenant-General) during Liberal Wars in the Duke of Terceira's army which landed in the Algarve and marched north to Lisbon in 1833. Marlon Acácio, previously known as Marlon August, (born July 9, 1982) is a judoka. Competing for South Africa in the 73 kg division he won a bronze medal at the 2008 African Championships and reached quarterfinals at the 2008 Olympics. At the 2016 Summer Olympics he competed for Mozambique in the Judo at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Men's 81 kg, 81 kg division, and was eliminated in the first bout. Acácio was born in Johannesburg to Mozambican parents. He is married to Evagelia August. He co-owns the Conscious Healing Centre, a wellness and personal development facility in Johannesburg.
