Across The Line (radio Show)
''Across the Line'' is a programme on BBC Radio Ulster (92– 95 FM). It broadcasts Monday, 9.30pm to 11.00 pm, presented by Gemma Bradley. It is also known for its popular website at www.bbc.co.uk/atl. Support for Northern Ireland music and musicians in central to the Across the Line editorial brief. Since its inception in 1986 as The Bottom Line, the programme has championed Northern Irish rock music and in particular bands from Northern Ireland. Regular contributors have included Stuart Bailie (who also writes for NME magazine), Phil Taggart (BBC Radio 1), Niall Byrne (Nialler 9), Paul McClean, Helen Toland and Bernard Keenan. For several years Rigsy presented alongside Donna Legge and until early 2012 Paul Hamill presented the ATL Dance Show. Across the Line won gold at the PPI Awards (the Irish version of the Sony Radio Academy Awards) in 2008 and 2009 then the equivalent (IMRO) awards in 2020 and 2021. Malachi O'Docherty
Malachi (; ) is the traditional author of the Book of Malachi, the last book of the Nevi'im (Prophets) section of the Tanakh. BBC Music ''Introducing'' is BBC Radio's platform supporting unsigned, undiscovered, and under-the-radar UK music talent. It gives artists the opportunity to be played on Local BBC Radio and nationally on BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, Radio 2, Radio 3, 6 Music and the Asian Network, as well as playing Introducing stages at festivals such as Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds and BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend. Phil Taggart
Philip Taggart (born 10 June 1986) is a Northern Irish DJ and radio presenter on BBC Radio Ulster. Early life Philly Taggart was born in Derry but was raised in Drumragh, a townland on the outskirts of Omagh in County Tyrone. He attended the Christian Brothers Grammar School, Omagh. He played bass in the band Colenso Parade from age 15 to age 24. The band went on several tours throughout the UK and supported the likes of Richard Hawley, Dirty Pretty Things and The View. Taggart started putting on gigs in his hometown at age 16, frustrated at not being able to get into 18+ gigs. Soon after this, he began to DJ regularly at local nightclubs. By the age of 17 he had begun writing for popular music magazine ''Alternative Ulster''. BBC Two Northern Ireland ( ga, BBC Thuaisceart Éireann a Dó) is the Northern Irish variation of BBC Two operated by BBC Northern Ireland. It is broadcast via digital terrestrial transmitters and from the SES Astra 2E satellite (transponder 48) at the 28.2° East orbital position. Presentation The channel was branded onscreen as 'BBC Two NI' from October 2006 until February 2007, though not referred to as such by continuity announcers. Ulster Hall
The Ulster Hall is a concert hall and grade A listed building in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Situated on Bedford Street in Belfast city centre, the hall hosts concerts, classical recitals, craft fairs and political party conferences. Techno
Techno is a genre of electronic dance music (EDM) which is generally produced for use in a continuous DJ set, with tempo often varying between 120 and 150 beats per minute (bpm). Rigsy
Rigsy (born 6 December 1978), real name David O'Reilly, is a presenter from Newcastle, Northern Ireland, currently living in East Belfast. He attended St Patrick's Grammar School, Downpatrick is a graduate of Queen's University Belfast. Broadcast career Rigsy has presented '' Across The Line'' on BBC Radio Ulster since 2002 and over 30 episodes of ''ATL TV'' on BBC Two Northern Ireland. Rigsy currently presents ''Across The Line'' with fellow broadcaster and journalist Stuart Bailie, having previously presented the show solo and alongside Donna Legge. Awards In 2008, Across the Line (with Rigsy presenting solo) won gold at the PPI Awards (the Irish equivalent of the Radio Academy Awards).
