Ackley Bridge (series 1)
The first series of the Television in the United Kingdom, British television drama series ''Ackley Bridge'' began broadcasting on 7 June 2017 on Channel 4, and ended on 12 July 2017. The series follows the lives of the staff and pupils at the fictional multi-cultural Academy (English school), academy school Ackley Bridge College, in the fictitious Yorkshire mill town of Ackley Bridge. It consists of six sixty-minute episodes. Production Channel 4 announced the casting for new school drama, ''The ABC'', in early 2017. Production and filming on the series began in February 2017 in Halifax, West Yorkshire, Halifax, West Yorkshire with the former St Catherine's Catholic High School used as Ackley Bridge College. Missy Booth
Missy Booth is a fictional character from the Channel 4 school drama ''Ackley Bridge'', portrayed by Poppy Lee Friar. Missy first appeared in the pilot episode of the series, first broadcast on 7 June 2017. She is introduced as one of the programme's two protagonists alongside best friend Nasreen Paracha (Amy-Leigh Hickman). Due to growing up with numerous responsibilities including being the carer of her family, Friar described her character as a "fighter". Despite this, Missy is also seen to be a rebellious and opinionated character who is popular at school, especially with the male students. Gerard Paul Greenhalgh (born 12 April 1979), known professionally as Paul Nicholls, is an English actor. Samuel Bottomley (born 14 June 2001) is an English actor. He began acting at the age of nine, when he made his professional debut in the 2011 film '' Tyrannosaur''. Sunetra Sarker (born 25 June 1973) is an English actress and presenter, known for her roles as Nisha Batra in ''Brookside'', Anji Mittel in ''No Angels'', Zoe Hanna in ''Casualty'' and Kaneez Paracha in ''Ackley Bridge''.
