Danielle Ackley-McPhail (born 1970) is an American author and editor, as well as publisher of fiction, and is best known for her work in speculative fiction. She was the editor for the ''Bad-Ass Faeries'', which was a finalist for the Dream Realm Award for best anthology, and her novel ''Tomorrow's Memories'' was a finalist for the 2008 Dream Realm Award for best fantasy. Dustin Michael Ackley (born February 26, 1988) is an American former professional baseball second baseman and outfielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Seattle Mariners and New York Yankees. Ackley played college baseball for the North Carolina Tar Heels, and was selected second overall by the Mariners in the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft. After going through a transformation to develop his skills defensively at second base, he joined the Mariners June 17, 2011. The Mariners traded him to the Yankees during the 2015 season. Edward Flanders "Pete" Ackley (July 21, 1887 – October 2, 1964) was an American lawyer, politician, and football coach. He served in the Wisconsin State Senate from 1913 to 1916. Early life and education Ackley was born on July 21, 1887, in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. He graduated from Chippewa Falls High School before attending the University of Minnesota Law School. He married Clara M. Christenson around 1912. Career Ackley represented the 28th district in the Senate from 1913 to 1916. He was a Republican, a defeated William H. Frawley in November 1912 election. In September 1926, Ackley was hired as the head football coach at Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington. He also coached baseball at Whitworth in the spring of 1927. Florian Frederick Ackley (April 10, 1937 – May 22, 2002) was an American professional baseball pitcher who appeared in five Major League Baseball games for the Chicago White Sox for parts of the and seasons. A right-hander, he batted left-handed and was listed as tall and . He was a native of Hunter, Wisconsin, and attended Hayward High School. Ackley's pro career began in 1954 and lasted for 13 seasons (1954–1959; 1961–1967). In 1963, Ackley won 18 games and lost only five for the Indianapolis Indians of the Triple-A International League and was named Pitcher of the Year; his team went on to win the Governors' Cup playoff title. Gardner Ackley
Hugh Gardner Ackley (June 30, 1915 – February 12, 1998) was an American economist and diplomat. Ackley served as a member of the Council of Economic Advisers under President John F. Kennedy, and as the Chairman under President Lyndon B. Johnson from 1964 to 1968. He also served as Ambassador to Italy from 1968 to 1969. Ackley was a member of the University of Michigan faculty for 43 years and served as chair of its Economics department. Upon returning to the University following his ambassadorship, he was named the Henry Carter Adams Professor of Political Economy.
