Achille Millien
Achille Millien (4 September 1838 – 12 January 1927) was a French poet and folklorist. His poetic work includes a dozen collections of rustic inspiration: ''La Moisson'', ''Chants agrestes'', ''Musettes et clairons'', ''Chez nous'', ''Aux champs et au foyer'', ''L'Heure du couvre-feu''... Biography As soon as 1877, Millien began the systematic collection of folk tales, legends and folk songs of the Nivernais region. This considerable work, the results of which are still largely unpublished, makes Achille Millien "an exemplary reference in the world of contemporary ethnology". Paul Adolphe Rajon
Paul-Adolphe Rajon (1843 – 8 June 1888) was a French painter and printmaker, who started his career as a photographer. Early life Born at Dijon, Rajon was the third child of Jean Marie Rajon, a hairdresser, by his marriage with Caroline Jaugey, a shop girl some thirty years younger. They had a daughter, Marguerite, born in 1839, and another son, Charles Henri, born in 1840. He died on 8 June 1888 at Auvers-sur-Oise, of pneumonia. José Corti
José Corti is a bookshop and publishing house located in Paris, France, and was founded in 1925. It is named after its founder, José Corticchiato (14 January 1895 – 25 December 1984). José Corticchiato started his business by publishing the work of his surrealist friends that included the founder André Breton, Paul Éluard, and Louis Aragon. José Corti's bookshop is located in the Latin Quarter in Paris, at 11 Rue Médicis, 75006 Paris (VIème). The firm was the lifelong publisher of French author Julien Gracq, and owns the publishing rights to Jan Potocki's masterpiece ''The Manuscript Found in Saragossa''. Its motto is , which means "Nothing Commonplace". At the end of 2016, the bookshop at 11 rue de Médicis closed. Folk music is a music genre that includes traditional folk music and the contemporary genre that evolved from the former during the 20th-century folk revival. Some types of folk music may be called world music.
