''Accidental Meeting'' is a 1994 American made-for-television thriller film directed by Michael Zinberg, and starring Linda Gray and Linda Purl. The film was promoted as 'the female version of '' Strangers on a Train'' (1951)'.''Encyclopedia of Television Film Directors: Volume 1'' by Jerry Roberts. p. 642 Plot Jennifer's husband is committing adultery. Maryanne's boss treats her like dirt. After an accidental meeting, the women decide to kill each other's men. Jennifer goes through with the deal, but Maryanne backs out. Jennifer, enraged, will not rest until Maryanne lives up to her part of the deal. Michael Zinberg
Michael Allan Zinberg (born March 22, 1944), is an American television director, producer and writer. Early life and education Zinberg was born in Bexar County, Texas to Dorothy Zinberg (née Rissien) and William Zinberg. Zinberg graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in San Antonio, TX. In 1977, received a B.S. in radio-television-film from Moody College of Communication at the University of Texas at Austin. Career Zinberg moved to Los Angeles, California, in 1968, with his first job as an usher at CBS Television City. He worked his way up to become a production assistant and then a writer, eventually working as an Associate Producer on the James Garner TV show '' Nichols.'' In 1972, Zinberg joined the MTM Productions television production company that was founded by Mary Tyler Moore's husband, Grant Tinker. ''Strangers on a Train'' is a 1951 American psychological thriller film noir produced and directed by Alfred Hitchcock, and based on the 1950 novel '' Strangers on a Train'' by Patricia Highsmith. It was shot in the autumn of 1950 and released by Warner Bros. on June 30, 1951, starring Farley Granger, Ruth Roman, and Robert Walker. The story concerns two strangers who meet on a train, one of whom is a psychopath who suggests that they "exchange" murders so that neither will be caught. The film initially received mixed reviews but has since been regarded much more favorably. In 2021, the film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". Kent Franklin McWhirter (born September 26, 1942), known by his stage name Kent McCord, is a retired American actor, best known for his role as Officer Jim Reed on the television series ''Adam-12.'' Life and career McCord was born Kent Franklin McWhirter in Los Angeles, California to Bert and Laura McWhirter.
