Golf is a club-and-ball sport in which players use various clubs to hit balls into a series of holes on a course in as few strokes as possible. Gustavo Rojas (golfer)
Gustavo Rojas (born 28 September 1967) is an Argentine professional golfer. Rojas was born in Buenos Aires. He turned professional in 1984. He has had his greatest success in South America on the various Argentine tours and the regional Tour de las Américas. In 2002, he was tied with Ángel Cabrera in the Argentine PGA Championship after 54 holes, but torrential rain meant that the final round was cancelled and the two shared the title. Rojas has played on the European Tour and its development tour, the Challenge Tour, since 1999. He has struggled to establish himself at the highest level, and has often had to return to the tours qualifying school. His best tournament finishes on the elite tour have been a pair of joint 5th places at the 2000 BMW International Open and the 2001 Via Digital Open de España. Antonio Cerdá
Antonio Cerdá (10 December 1921 – 28 November 2010) was an Argentine professional golfer. Cerdá finished second in the 1951 Open Championship to Max Faulkner, and second in the 1953 Open Championship to Ben Hogan, among seven consecutive top-ten finishes in the championship. He won several national opens in Europe in the 1950s and won the first Canada Cup with Roberto De Vicenzo in 1953 for Argentina. Later in his career, Cerdá would emigrate to Mexico, and also represented that country five times at the World Cup, finishing third in 1967. After an outstanding professional career, Cerdá dedicated over 40 years to golf instruction, particularly to young players in Mexico, like his son Antonio Oscar Cerdá. Fidel De Luca
Fidel de Luca (29 April 1922 – 6 June 2007) was an Argentine professional golfer. Born in San Isidro, Buenos Aires, he worked as a caddie in Buenos Aires, before turning professional in 1948. De Luca won the Argentine Professional Ranking nine times, but only competed in three major championships, appearing twice in the British Open, in 1958 and 1960, and once in the Masters Tournament in 1962. In 1958, on the European circuit, he won the German Open, and finished fourth in French Open. De Luca represented Argentina on nine occasions in the World Cup, with a best finish of second place in partnership with Roberto De Vicenzo in the 1962 edition, which was held on home soil at the Jockey Club in Buenos Aires. Roberto De Vicenzo
Roberto De Vicenzo (14 April 1923 – 1 June 2017) was a professional golfer from Argentina. He won a record 229 professional tournaments worldwide during his career, including seven on the PGA Tour and most famously the 1967 Open Championship. He is perhaps best remembered for signing an incorrect scorecard that kept him out of a playoff for the 1968 Masters Tournament. Biography De Vicenzo was born on 14 April 1923 in Villa Ballester, a northern suburb of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Florentino Molina (born 30 December 1938) is an Argentine professional golfer. Molina was born in Río Cuarto, Córdoba. He turned pro in 1960. He won the Argentine Open five times and the Argentine Professional Rankings four times. He played on the PGA Tour from 1975 to 1980 and the European Tour in 1981. Vicente Fernández (golfer)
Vicente Fernández (born 5 April 1946) is an Argentine golfer who has won more than 60 professional tournaments around the world. Fernández was born in Corrientes, Argentina. He turned professional in 1964 and was a regular competitor on the European Tour from the mid-1970s to the mid-1990s. He won four titles on the tour and had two top ten Order of Merit finishes, placing 6th in 1974 and 9th in 1975. He was sixteenth on the Order of Merit in 1992 at the age of 46. Armando Saavedra (born 27 September 1954) is an Argentine professional golfer. Born in Chile, Saavedra worked as a caddie in Buenos Aires, before turning professional in 1974. Saavedra won the Argentine Professional Ranking in 1979, but only competed in four major championships, in the British Open in 1979, 1980, 1985 and 1990. He competed on the European Tour from 1978 to 1979 and from 1985 to 1992 and obtained three top ten finishes: T8 at the Scandinavian Enterprise Open in 1979, T5 at the Peugeot Open de France in 1986 and 7th at the Open Renault de Baleares in 1990.
