Abigail "Aby" Palmares Maraño (born December 22, 1992) is a Filipino professional volleyball player who plays for F2 Logistics Cargo Movers in the Premier Volleyball League. Early life and education Maraño was born on December 22, 1992, and is 175 cm tall. She took up Bachelor of Arts in Philippine Studies major in Filipino in Mass Media at De La Salle University. Career Maraño was a two-time UAAP Most Valuable Player, having won the award in the UAAP Season 74 and Season 75 and former team captain (2012-2014) of the De La Salle University Lady Spikers. She began her commercial league career in the PSL, where she was selected as the second overall draft pick for the 2014 season for the AirAsia Flying Spikers. She played with Don Antonio de Zuzuarregui Sr Memorial Academy and De La Salle University Lady Spikers from (2009-2014). UAAP Volleyball Championship
The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) volleyball tournament is divided into four divisions, namely men's, women's, boys' and girls'. Volleyball is a mandatory sport in the women's division. The UAAP volleyball tournament was held in the first semester of the school year until the UAAP Board decided to move it to the second semester in Season 69 (school year 2006–2007). This decision was made so that the games can be televised to improve its popularity. Tournament format The tournament begins with a double round robin group stage, where a team meets its opponent twice in a season. A semi-finals round composed of the top four teams follows, after which the top two teams meet in a best-of-three series Finals. The 2014 PSL Grand Prix was the second tournament of the Philippine Super Liga for its 2014 season. The tournament ran from October 18, 2014 to November 30, 2014. The tournament's major sponsor was Asics. FIVB Referees Commission director Mohammed Hassan was the guest of honor of the opening ceremony held in Smart-Araneta Coliseum. The 2016 Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship, Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship was the 17th staging of the Asian Volleyball Confederation, AVC Club Championships which was hosted by the Philippines. 2015 PSL Season
The 2015 PSL season is the third season of the Philippine Super Liga (PSL). There were two indoor conferences for the season – the All-Filipino, and the Grand Prix. It staged its first beach volleyball tournament, the Challenge Cup, for the women's and men's divisions. Developments * The PSL is now sanctioned under the Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is a women's professional volleyball league in the Philippines organized by Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. The league began in 2004 as the Shakey's V-League, a women's collegiate league. Since 2011, the league became open to participation of corporate clubs and other non-collegiate teams. The Philippine Super Liga (PSL; alternatively spelled as Philippine Superliga) was a non-professional corporate club women's volleyball league in the Philippines. It was first organized by SportsCore Event Management and Consultancy, Inc. and later owned by Athletic Events & Sports Management Group (ACES), Inc. The league was envisioned to provide former collegiate players a league with which they can continue with their volleyball career. The PSL also had a men's division from 2013 to 2014, although its beach volleyball tournament both have a women's and men's division since its inception.
