Abu Dhabi Tram
The government of Abu Dhabi is planning a tram system, as part of a broader long-term transport strategy. In 2009, it was suggested that the tram system would enter service in 2014; however, as of 2021, nothing has yet materialised. The network is expected to cost around $5Bn. Network A 340 km tram network is planned. Tram
A tram (called a streetcar or trolley in North America) is a rail vehicle that travels on tramway tracks on public urban streets; some include segments on segregated right-of-way. The tramlines or networks operated as public transport are called tramways or simply trams/streetcars. Many recently built tramways use the contemporary term light rail. Reem Island ( ar, جزيرة الريم) is a natural island located 600 metres off the coast of Abu Dhabi island. It is a mixed purpose community with both residential, retail and commercial units. Development Sorouh Real Estate, now merged with Aldar Properties PJSC, Reem Investments and Tamouh are independently developing parts of the island with projects like Shams Abu Dhabi. Reem Developers define the overall dimensions of the project as 2 meters square metres and investment costs as exceeding $30 billion. Khalifa City is a residential suburb located in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. It is popular among renters. Subdivisions Khalifa City was subdivided into three areas: Khalifa City A, Khalifa City B, and New Khalifa City. Al Raha is a mixed commercial, residential, and leisure area in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, located primarily in Khalifa City A. Rapid Transit In The United Arab Emirates
Rapids are sections of a river where the river bed has a relatively steep gradient, causing an increase in water velocity and turbulence. Rapids are hydrological features between a ''run'' (a smoothly flowing part of a stream) and a ''cascade''. Rapids are characterized by the river becoming shallower with some rocks exposed above the flow surface. As flowing water splashes over and around the rocks, air bubbles become mixed in with it and portions of the surface acquire a white color, forming what is called "whitewater". Rapids occur where the bed material is highly resistant to the erosive power of the stream in comparison with the bed downstream of the rapids.
