''Absolute Elsewhere'' is the fourth studio album by American death metal band Blood Incantation. It was released on October 4, 2024, through Century Media. Background The album is named after the progressive rock group Absolute Elsewhere. The album was recorded during the summer of 2023 at Hansa Tonstudio in Berlin. Arthur Rizk, who previously worked with the thrash metal band Power Trip, produced the album. The band stated in an interview that they hired an extra €9,000 worth of synth equipment to record the album. Lead singer and guitarist Paul Riedl stated "''Absolute Elsewhere'' is our most potent audial extract/musical trip yet; like the soundtrack to a Herzog-style sci-fi epic about the history of/battle for human consciousness itself, via a '70s prog album played by a ’90s death metal band from the future.” On September 27, 2024, the band released "The Stargate", the first song on the album, accompanied by a short film directed by Michael Ragen and produced ... Blood Incantation
Blood Incantation is an American death metal band from Denver, Colorado, formed in 2011. The band consists of guitarist and vocalist Paul Riedl, drummer Isaac Faulk, guitarist Morris Kolontyrsky and bassist Jeff Barrett. Their debut album, ''Starspawn'', was released in 2016 through Dark Descent Records and received critical acclaim from music publications such as '' Decibel'' and Stereogum. The band's sound features "a psychedelic take on classic death metal" and melds "technicality with tectonic riffs, cavernous vocals and eerie, Dodsengel-like moments of caustic stillness." On the band's style, Stereogum's Aaron Lariviere wrote: "Screaming leads cut a swath through the churn of atonal rhythm guitars, blending the bright melodicism of late-period Death with the alien tones of Morbid Angel circa '' Domination''." Thorsten Quaeschning
Thorsten Quaeschning (born 23 February 1977) is a German musician. He is the bandleader of the electronic music group Tangerine Dream which he joined in 2005. He performs synthesizers, vocals, guitar and drums. Early life Quaeschning was born in 1977 in Berlin within a classically trained music-loving family. As a child, he learned violin, piano, drums and flute and was drawn to classical composers such as Engelbert Humperdinck, Wagner, Telemann, Smetana and Mozart. Career Before joining Tangerine Dream, Quaeschning worked as a producer for the band Minory. Afterwards, he began to tour with Tangerine Dream behind the scenes in 2003 before joining them two years later. Quaeschning has a second band called Picture Palace music. In 2018, Quaeschning released the soundtrack to the thriller film ''Cargo''.
