Mehdi Ali oglu Huseynov – famed under the pseudonym Mehdi Huseyn ( az, Mehdi Hüseyn; 17 April 1909 – 10 March 1965) was an Azerbaijani and Soviet writer and critic, laureate of the State Stalin Prize of the third degree (1950) and member of the All-Union Communist Party since 1941. Education Huseyn was born on April 4, 1909 in İkinci Şıxlı village of Azerbaijan, into a family of a People's teacher. At seven years old he attended a village school, that taught in Russian. In 1920, he entered a pedagogical technical school and the following year went to Komsomol. In 1930, he graduated in history from Azerbaijan University, and in 1936 studied at the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography in Moscow. Career Huseyn wrote his first "Shearing of sheep" narrative in the last year at the secondary school, and it was published in 1926, in Sharg Gadini magazine ("Woman of the East"). Absheron District
Absheron District () is one of the 66 districts of Azerbaijan. It is located in the east of the country and belongs to the Absheron-Khizi Economic Region. The district borders the districts of Khizi, Gobustan, Baku, Hajigabul, Salyan, and the city of Sumgait. Its capital and largest city is Khyrdalan. As of 2020, the district had a population of 214,100. Although the district shares the same name as the Absheron Peninsula, the area covered by the district is not conterminous, being further west and mostly inland. Absheron Economic Region
The Absheron Economic Region is located in the eastern part of the Republic of Azerbaijan and comprises Baku and Sumgait cities and the Absheron and Khizi districts. The eastern part of the economic region is located on the shores of the Caspian Sea, which has positive effects on the economy of the region. It borders Shaki-Zaqatala economic region to the north, Mountainous Shirvan to the west and Aran to the south. Abşeron FK is an Azerbaijani football club. The club plays in the AFFA Amateur League. History Founded in 2010, the club immediately gained admittance to the Azerbaijan First Division in 2010. The Absheron gas field ( az, Abşeron yatağı) is an offshore natural gas field in the Caspian Sea. The field is located southeast of Baku and northeast of the Shah Deniz gas field. The JW Marriott Absheron Baku is a high-rise hotel in Baku, Azerbaijan, opened in 2012. It is located on Azadliq Square next to Pushkin's Park and the Crescent Hotel on the edge of the Caspian Sea. The hotel is named for the previous Absheron Hotel which formerly stood on this site. It was established by the Soviet Intourist monopoly in 1985 and had 343 rooms on 16 floors. Absheron National Park
Absheron National Park ( az, Abşeron Milli Parkı) is a national park of Azerbaijan in the Caspian Hyrcanian mixed forests' ecoregion. It was established on the 8th of February 2005, on an area of in the administrative territory of the District of Azizbeyov in the City of Baku, on the base of Absheron State Nature Preserve. Fauna and flora The Absheron State Nature Preserve was created in July 1969 in order to protect gazelles, Caspian seals and water birds that inhabit the territory. The climate of the area is semi-arid, specific to semi-desert and dry steppe. Types and phytomass of flora is poor here, plants are changed respective of water and saltiness regime of area. Sea coastal sand plants (42,6%), meadows with jigilgamish and paz grass (13,2 %), one-year saline grasses (5,2 %) etc. are spread. Ephemeras also develop well in early spring.
