Absence (Snowman Album)
''Absence'' is the third and final album for Australian band, Snowman. It was released on 3 June 2011 via Dot Dash Recordings. It was produced by Snowman and Aaron Cupples ( The Drones, Dan Kelly, Paul Kelly) at various locations around London. Upon the release of the album, Snowman announced their split. Snowman (band)
Snowman was a band originally from Perth, Western Australia. They formed in 2002, relocated to London in 2008, and disbanded in 2011. History 2002-2005: Formation and ''Zombies on the Airwaves of Paris'' Snowman began playing together in various incarnations and under different names during their high school years. Joe McKee and Andy Citawarman met when they were fourteen years old; they began writing music together almost immediately. Olga Hermanniusson soon joined on Bass guitar and saxophone. After a few line-ups and name changes, the band settled on Snowman with new drummer Ross DiBlasio joining in 2002. In 2003 they began playing live around Australia. They also recorded two demo CDs, which included early versions of "Lost in the Woods", "The Horror Song", "Moodswing" and a track that would go through many changes to eventually become "Wormwood". The Drones (Australian Band)
The Drones were an Australian rock band, formed in Perth by mainstay lead vocalist and guitarist Gareth Liddiard in 1997. Fiona Kitschin, his domestic partner, joined on bass guitar and vocals in 2002. Other long-term members include Rui Pereira on bass guitar and then lead guitar; Mike Noga on drums, vocals, harmonica and percussion; and Dan Luscombe on lead guitar, vocals and keyboards. Their second album, '' Wait Long by the River and the Bodies of Your Enemies Will Float By'' (April 2005), won the inaugural Australian Music Prize. In October 2010 their third studio album, ''Gala Mill'' (September 2006) was listed at No. 21 in the book, ''100 Best Australian Albums''. Daniel O Kelly (born Daniel Kelly; 1974), known as Dan Kelly, is an Australian singer-songwriter and guitarist. He has released music as part of Dan Kelly and the Alpha Males. Biography 1974–1999: Early Years Dan Kelly grew up in Queensland, on the Gold Coast, attended a Catholic school, in Beenleigh, and was the second oldest of six children. He learnt the guitar at thirteen and later studied Environmental Science at Griffith University in Brisbane. He formed his first band, Nord, in Brisbane before moving to Melbourne in 1996. Paul Kelly (Australian Musician)
Paul Maurice Kelly (born 13 January 1955) is an Australian rock music singer-songwriter and guitarist. He has performed solo, and has led numerous groups, including the Dots, the Coloured Girls, and the Messengers.
