Abraham Hill House
The Abraham Hill House is an historic First Period house in Belmont, Massachusetts, United States. Probably built in the early 18th century, it is one of the oldest buildings in the town. Its construction history shows changing residential trends over two hundred years of history. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. Belmont, Massachusetts
Belmont is a town in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. It is a western suburb of Boston, Massachusetts, United States; and is part of the Greater Boston metropolitan area. At the time of the 2020 U.S. Census, the town's population stood at 27,295, up 10.4% from 2010. History Belmont was established on March 10, 1849, by former citizens of, and land from the bordering towns of Watertown, to the south; Waltham, to the west; and Arlington, then known as West Cambridge, to the north. They also wanted a town where no one could buy or sell alcohol (alcohol is now legal to purchase in Belmont). First Period
First Period is an American architecture style in the time period between approximately 1626 and 1725, used by British colonists during the earliest English settlements in United States, particularly in Massachusetts and Virginia and later in other British colonies along the east coast. Among these cities, Essex County in Massachusetts has the highest amount of preserved First Period architecture mimicking British architecture styles. Massachusetts Route 60
Route 60 is a east–west state highway running through the northern suburbs of Boston. Its western terminus is at U.S. Route 20 (US 20) in Waltham and its eastern terminus is at Route 1A and Route 16 in Revere. Route description Route 60 begins at U.S. Route 20 in Waltham, just east of downtown. It then heads eastward, passing through the center of Belmont before intersecting in Arlington with Route 2 at that route's Exit 59 eastbound, continuing as Pleasant Street. From there, Route 60 joins U.S. Route 3 and Route 2A for a brief concurrency, starting at Massachusetts Avenue. It then turns eastward off of that route, crossing the Mystic River into Medford.
